Answer:	Side holes on Caged Tube Feeder are 1-3/4" x 1-1/2". Holes that curve on top are 1-3/4" wide at the base and of course get longer and narrower over the top. It may be squirrel proof but not raccoon proof. One of the two empties it during the night and throws it on the ground - prob'ly raccoon since it happens at night.

Answer:	So far its been very durable... it's light but I put a lag bolt down the center into the 4x4 pole. Otherwise it just held on by weight of feed which I didn't like... I put shark teeth on 4x4 to keep animals out and so far its worked well.. I've only had it 3 or 4 months but if it handles the Texas heat its a keeper.

Answer:	I've done both. It will stand when empty & let you fill it. Then you have to lift it where you hang it. Currently, I have it set with a lightweight tripod that folds up. You can actually spread the tripod to where you can pour corn in while it hangs. Then just bring the legs in to where you want them. I've got the bail on the feeder hooked to a dog choke chain on the tripod with a caribiner.
