| Answer: | I think that would depend on what height you the fisherman is comfortable with. Also, the softness of the soil makes a difference as well. If, you have lose ground the deeper you may need to go. I usually go as deep to the top of the triangle as the picture shows. Good Luck! |

| Answer: | Hey Psychodad, I measured these and the inner diameter is 1-1/4", that is one and one-quarter inch. I have been using Shakespeare's 7' Medium duty Ugly Stick with these rod holders and they fit great as a reference to the pole size. I recently hauled in a 25 lb. catfish that had the holder in a sustained pull over until I could get to it (I was landing another fish) and it held my catch until I was able to attend to it. I have four (4) of these holder and would buy them again!!! |
