Answer:	I wear a size 11 boot but im lanky. I got these in an 11 and should've got a ten. I think if you get a 12, the feet may be super big to the point that when your foot sinks in mud and you go to step your foot wants to come out. I gave mine to my brother who is 6'1 230 and has viking thighs. They fit him well. Id worry more about foot size than thigh room, you oughta be fine on thigh room.

As an outerwear piece, it would only be good into the 40's. It would be a great layering piece under another insulated jacket to improve insulation.
