Question: | If I wanted to reel with my left hand I should get the “one size |
Answer: | Then buy the reel with left hand orientation, regardless of size. These reels come both ways. By the way it's a very good reel. No issues with mine thus far and it's over a year old. |
Question: | Can't tell by the pic or description, is this a level wind reel |
Answer: | Yes , this is a level wind reel. |
Question: | lefty or righty |
Answer: | This is right handed |
Question: | i am confused about left and right handed. I rotate the reel knob by my right hand... is that a right hand then |
Answer: | I'm right handed and for years I bought right handed bait casting reels. A few years back I started buy left handed bait cast reels, you're used to using a spinning reel with your left hand retrieving, no difference to me. The plus side to using a left handed bait caster is now I don't have to switch hands after casting. |

User questions & answers
Question: | i bought one of these reels recently,i thought that it was interchangable, but it s only left handed and i am right handed. How can i rectify this probl |
Answer: | if you are right handed you are supposed to reel with your left. |
Question: | what is the line capacity and max drag |
Answer: | MONO line capacity (Lb. Test / Yards): 20/460, 30/320, 40/240. Diawa didn't state what it is for Braid, but a quick google research leads me to believe braid gives you 1.44 times the line capacity of mono, so for braid (Lb. Test / Yards) : 20/662, 30/460, 40/345.Diawa states the max drag is 33 pounds. So, I would suggest getting 40 pounds as minimum strenght line, any more and you're losing line capacity. 350 yards of 40 pound braid seems to be the ticket, backed with some heavy mono as a leader/shock line. http://www.daiwaweb.com/us/contents/reels/df100a_giant/index.html |
Question: | Is there a "lock and unlock" switch for the anti-reverse? Thanks |
Answer: | Yes on the bottom. If you do heavy surf fishing and wade in the water, sand usually will jam the mechanism. If this happens simply unscrew the cover and hit it with some WD40. I've owned 2 of these reels and the anti reverse switch is the first thing to go. It is a measly tensioned wire that engages the switch, but for the price you can't complain! Also check and make sure your "drag metal" is included. Mine shipped without one and cost me a nice size shark because my drag instantly tightened and snapped my line... |
Question: | How big of a shark could you reel in with this |
Answer: | Well no sharks yet biggest catch was a ray 40+lbs was not a problem.the reel holds approx 500 yds of 100 lb test braided line and worked fine |

User questions & answers
Question: | Are the clickers loud |
Answer: | Loud enough but I guess it depends on your hearing. This is a wonderful reel, ultra smooth drag and light weight. I have two that I use for Kokanee with 702 SST Okuma Kokanee casting model rods, an awesome combination. |
Question: | Line capacity for 25 pound line |
Answer: | The only way to put 25 pound line would be to use "braid" ... You could probably get 125 yards of braid on it but only half that of mono. The first thing I thought when I opened the box was "dang that's a small reel" It is well made and I spooled it with braid and love it. The line counter is very responsive and it works fine for trolling for bass and white perch. |
Question: | Can you get the Lexa 100 in left handed for this price |
Answer: | No idea ... I'm right handed. |
Question: | Right or left handed |
Answer: | This model LEXA-LC100H is a Right-Hand crank (meant for Left-Handed people). The model LEXA-LC100HL is a Left-Hand crank (meant for Right Handed people). The idea is to crank with your weaker hand and control the pole and the fish with the dominant hand. |

Question: | What are the rod specs? Line rating? Lure rating |
Answer: | Does NOT matter as 8 lbs is 8 lbs and 17 lbs is 17 lbs. Braid has a much thinner diameter than mono, and more will fit on reel. An option is to use braid 1 & 1/2 times the strength of the mono as backing, and connect them with a "spectra" knot. |
