12 best archery sights
Archery sights are crucial accessories for archers, particularly in target shooting and hunting, as they aid in aiming and improving accuracy. These sights come in various types and designs, each offering specific features and benefits. Here's what you need to know about archery sights:
Purpose: The primary purpose of an archery sight is to assist the archer in aiming the bow accurately. It helps align the bow with the target, reducing the guesswork and increasing the chances of hitting the desired spot.
Types of Archery Sights:
Fixed Pin Sights: These are the most common type of archery sights. They feature multiple pins, each set at a specific distance. Archers adjust the pins to correspond with different shooting distances, providing a reference point for aiming.
Single Pin Sights: Single pin sights have only one movable pin. Archers adjust the pin's position manually according to the shooting distance. This type reduces clutter in the sight picture and can be preferred for its simplicity.
Pendulum Sights: Primarily used for tree stand hunting, pendulum sights automatically adjust for the angle of the shot. They help maintain accuracy when shooting from an elevated position.
Slider Sights: Slider sights combine the adjustability of single pin sights with the convenience of multiple pins. Archers can slide the pin to the desired distance, making them versatile for various shooting scenarios.
Peep Sights: While not a primary sight, a peep sight is often used in conjunction with other sights. It's a small, ring-shaped device placed on the bowstring, which the archer looks through to align with the sight pins.
Adjustability: Many archery sights are adjustable for windage (horizontal adjustment) and elevation (vertical adjustment). This allows archers to fine-tune their aiming point for different conditions and distances.
Materials: Archery sights are typically made from lightweight and durable materials such as aluminum or carbon fiber. High-quality materials ensure longevity and minimize weight.
Fiber Optics and Illumination: Many sights incorporate fiber optic pins that gather and transmit available light to make the pins more visible in low-light conditions. Some sights also feature built-in illumination to enhance visibility during dawn or dusk.
Bubble Levels: Some archery sights include bubble levels to help ensure that the bow is held level, reducing the chances of canting (tilting) the bow and affecting accuracy.
Mounting: Sights can be mounted to the bow's riser or the bow's sight window using a mounting bracket. The choice depends on the archer's preference and bow design.
Cost: The cost of archery sights can vary significantly, depending on factors like brand, features, and build quality. There are options available for archers with different budgets.
In summary, archery sights are essential tools that aid archers in aiming accurately, and they come in various types and configurations to suit different shooting styles and preferences. Properly chosen and adjusted archery sights can greatly improve an archer's accuracy, making them a valuable addition to the archer's equipment arsenal.

User questions & answers
Question: | Can i dowload software from a tablet? Dont have a laptop |
Answer: | In order to update the devices software correctly you would need access to a computer. |
Question: | The xero has been sighted in, you are on the hunt, you range a target, does pen adjust to that distance automatically |
Answer: | Yes, the bow site will automatically adjust the distance once you have completed the initial setup. If you have further questions contact us at [email protected] or visit our Support Center, https://support.garmin.com/en-US/. Thanks Jenny |
Question: | What color pin comes standard with the A1 model |
Answer: | Hello, The color pins for the Xero A1 is red. Thanks Chris |
Question: | How many fixed pin ranges can be added to the A |
Answer: | If you have a fast enough bow you can set pins between 20-100 yrds, there will be about 3-5 leds between the 10 yrd increments. if you set a normal 20,30,40 and such ,your only limited to your max calibration pin setting. I think there are about 52 leds in the led array which is around 1.75 to 2 inches long vertical in the sight. If you set them all as fixed pins you would have a vertical light bar . |

Range, Sight and Shoot the Exact Pin
Know the range, and shoot the exact pin with minimal movement using Xero bow sights. They’re the first bow-mounted digital laser range finders and targeting display systems that measure the angle-compensated distance to your target and provide an LED pin for the shot — even on those 'in-between' yardages. LED pins automatically adjust brightness to conditions and allow you to see your target, unobstructed by physical pins. A single-button trigger lets you range at rest or full draw to game up to 100 yards away or to reflective targets up to 300 yards. Both Xero A1 and A1i are customizable for single-pin and multi-pin configurations or manual pin selection.
Xero bow sights mount directly to your bow, providing a highly accurate laser range finder that calculates the exact LED pin to use for the shot. There’s no need to fumble with a separate range finder or guess which pin to use.
Silent Button Trigger
When stealth and stillness are critical, Xero bow sights require minimal movement, at rest or full draw. You mount the button in the most convenient location for your grip so that 1 finger can silently trigger the laser range finder to give you the distance and exact pin you need for the shot.
Laser Range Finder
No more guessing about yardages in between pins. Xero A1 and A1i bow sights instantly provide the precise angle-compensated distance to game up to 100 yards away or up to 300 yards on reflective targets, at rest or full draw.
LED Pins
The beauty of using bright LED pins is that you can clearly see them over your target, unobstructed by physical pins. Xero A1 utilizes red LEDs while A1i gives you the option to use red or green LEDs.
Customizable Pins
You can customize your Xero bow sight for single-pin and multi-pin configurations, or if you have certain favorite yardages, you can specify manual pin selections. Easily toggle between fixed pin mode and single-pin mode.

User questions & answers
Question: | Did someone set up this sight for LH, what did with the bubble level, is it detachable |
Answer: | Hi Maria, when this sight is set up for a left hand bow (you just turn it 180 degrees), the bubble level will be at the top instead of the bottom but it would still be usable. The entire target ring with the bubble level is detachable, leaving just the sight pins. That kind of set up is for hunting. |
Question: | Will it work with a Genesis Original Youth Bow |
Answer: | yes,it's a universal bow sight. |
Question: | Does this sight come with a peep sight |
Answer: | No this is just main sight that is installed on the riser of the bow. Does not come with peep sight that is installed into the string . |
Question: | Does this work on a samick sage 62" takedown recurve bow |
Answer: | Robert... I had more time to answer... The mounting screws center to center is 1.350" I measured over the existing threaded screw and it's .185 dia. Seems like a course thread. Don't know if it's metric or not. There was no info supplied with the site. It's pretty slick though. Decent quality for the price. Have a set of Allen wrenches handy as there are a few adjustments you will need to make setting it up. Mounts for either a LH or RH bow. I wish I could tell you the thread size but can't at this time. It comes with screws and it fit my recurve bow perfectly. The main mounting bracket mounts parallel with the arrow on the opposite side of the arrow window. Has a slick level bubble too.It also has 3 pins you can adjust for different distances, again using an allen wrench. I have only finger tightened the screws so far as my wrench set is somewhere in the garage. If I found them then I would be able to tell you if it's metric or not. |
