I have mine on polished marble 12-inch tiles and glass and they work great, but you still need to check them before each use of the shower (they each have good indicators that the suction is still intact) as they frequently lose suction over a period of days and have to be reset (a simple task).

Question:	What are the washing instructions for this fabric
Answer:	You probably would be able to but not sure if at sitting position if you would hurt your shoulder attempting this. . It is designed to help you get into the tub safely. It is very secure if you attach it as instructed. We have used it for 6 mos for my 180 lb Mom who needs balance and security when using toilet which is close to her tub.

Answer:	This grab bar is strong enough to bear the full weight of 170 lbs is what I can say about the bar for sure. The handle is a slip resistant materiel over what I believe to be metal based on the weight. I don’t have a fiberglass tub so I can’t speak to just how tight the paddles can get in that type material

Answer:	I feel it would be safer to get into a kneeling position and then use the grab bar. This is not drilled into a wall so to use that much pull and pressure could be dangerous.If you're agile and flexible enough to sit down in a tub then turn into a kneeling position for your safety. Using a bath may would prevent slipping somewhat. One can use the grab bar for some assistance in using the leverage to turn. I just would not use it to pull my entire weight. I have mine mou Ted on a fiberglass tub. I am carefully not to crack the tub. Porcelain would be more slippery. I would say no to your question. I don't know your size of weight.
