Answer:	Sure is. You can sit in an armchair, stool etc. etc. Look this chair is a bit spendy but it is an aid to correct posture. The lotus or the half lotus is not easy and you are not going to do it in an armchair. If you want to get back to basics, you should not use any aid except the master of novices with his stick to whack you into the correct position. If you are trying this on your own, i.e. no master, no stick, this chair will help with the addition of a book by Alan Watts or D.T. Suzuki. Best of luck.
