14 best fitbit charge hr
The Fitbit Charge HR was a popular fitness tracker introduced by Fitbit, a well-known company in the fitness technology industry. While this particular model is no longer in production (as of my last knowledge update in 2023), we can provide information about its key features and capabilities:
Heart Rate Monitoring: The Fitbit Charge HR was known for its continuous heart rate monitoring. It used optical sensors to measure your heart rate directly from your wrist, providing real-time data on your heart rate during workouts and throughout the day. This feature was particularly useful for tracking your cardiovascular health and estimating calorie burn more accurately.
Activity Tracking: Like other Fitbit devices, the Charge HR tracked various aspects of your daily activity, including steps taken, distance traveled, floors climbed, and active minutes. It encouraged users to set daily activity goals and monitor their progress.
Sleep Tracking: The device also offered sleep tracking capabilities, allowing you to monitor your sleep duration and quality. It provided insights into your sleep patterns and helped you establish better sleep habits.
Smartphone Notifications: The Fitbit Charge HR could display caller ID and notifications from your smartphone on its OLED screen. This feature allowed you to stay connected to your phone without having to check it constantly.
Wireless Syncing: It featured wireless syncing with the Fitbit app, which was available for both iOS and Android devices. This made it easy to track your fitness progress and set goals using your smartphone or computer.
Long Battery Life: The device had a reasonably long battery life, lasting up to 5 days on a single charge, which was convenient for users who didn't want to charge their fitness tracker frequently.
Exercise Tracking: The Fitbit Charge HR offered exercise-specific tracking modes, such as running, biking, and other workouts. It allowed you to record your workouts and view detailed statistics about your performance.
Water Resistance: While it was not fully waterproof, the Charge HR was water-resistant, meaning it could handle splashes and sweat. However, it was not suitable for swimming or submersion in water.
Customizable Bands: Fitbit offered a variety of interchangeable bands for the Charge HR, allowing users to personalize their device's look to match their style.
Community and Challenges: Fitbit devices, including the Charge HR, integrated with the Fitbit community, where users could connect with friends, join challenges, and compete in fitness-related activities for added motivation.
Please note that since the Fitbit Charge HR is no longer in production, Fitbit has released newer models with enhanced features and capabilities. If you are interested in a Fitbit device, it's a good idea to explore their latest offerings to find a fitness tracker that meets your specific needs and preferences.

User questions & answers
Question: | Will my charge 3 bands fit the charge 4? Would i need to purchase new bands, again |
Answer: | Charge 3 bands are interchangeable with Charge 4 bands. They're the same exact size. |
Question: | Will this watch offer heart rate variability tracking or collect data that can be extracted by an app for hrv tracking |
Answer: | yes |
Question: | Will a regular charge 4 band fit on the charge 4 special edition? Looks like it has special connections |
Answer: | From the best I can tell from all the internet research I've done the only difference in the 2 fitbit is the band or strap material. Otherwise they are exactly the same. They give you a fancy band and charge you more. Otherwise the fitbit 4 is identical the the fitbit 4 special edition. |
Question: | Does GPS require paying a monthly fee to anyone or is it free |
Answer: | Until Fitbit allows GPS phone tethering on the Charge 4 - you are better off with a Charge 3 (or Charge 2). Otherwise you're looking at 1-2 hours battery life while exercising with GPS, missed stats, and constantly recharging this thing (more often than an apple watch). Fitbit could fix this tomorrow by allowing tethering, but they do not, and are censoring the issue on their forums. Don't downgrade! |

User questions & answers
Question: | How accurate is the HR tracking for strength training/weight-lifting workouts |
Answer: | Yes its waterproof up to 50 meters. Yes it will track swimming sessions. I believe it will track swim duration and distance/laps. The Inspire doesn’t allow you to set the pool length like the more expensive models do though. The HR feature is disabled while swimming. It will automatically recognize swimming (the default is 15 minutes but you can change it to recognize it after 10 minutes of swimming) or you can manually start a swim session through the tracker itself which is what I do with most of my exercises. |
Question: | Does the screen on the lilac option actually have a purple tint to it |
Answer: | The charging cord is included, but it may not have the original fitbit charging cord. It is supposed to come with a charging cord that has a button toward the base so that you can restart it if needed, like if the display goes away. The cord that I received through Amazon does not have this button, so restarting it is a bit trickier. |
Question: | Is this waterproof? Would it track swimming sessions |
Answer: | This does not count steps. it counts movement. |
Question: | charger cord included |
Answer: | You can use an iPad or similar device, not necessarily iPhone or droid phone. It is just bigger if you have to carry it around while walking or running. For swimming, start the app and leave the phone/ipad in your locker or swim bag. Sync when finished with swim workout. Hope this helps. |

From the Manufacturer
• Certain features like Auto Sleep Tracking and SmartTrack may be disabled when using this accessory. Classic accessory bands are the recommended accessory for high intensity workouts and sleep tracking. • Do not wear the Flex 2 Pendant accessory while sleeping or during high intensity activity, as doing so could create a choking hazard. • Flex 2 Pendant accessories contain magnets. Magnets may interfere with pacemakers, defibrillators, or other medical devices. Consult your physician and the manufacturer of your medical device before using to determine if these accessories are safe for you. If the accessories may be interfering with your pacemaker, defibrillator, or other medical device, do not wear the accessories.
Buying Guide
Move it up: Since blood increases further up your arm, wear your tracker higher on your wrist to improve the heart rate signal during workouts. Start by moving the device up to three finger widths above your wrist bone, then experiment with slightly lower placement. Keep it secure: The less your tracker moves during exercise, the more chance you have of maintaining a heart rate signal throughout the activity. Do not wear the band too tightly, as this can restrict blood flow and goes against our wear and care guidelines. Hold steady for ten seconds: High intensity exercises or activities that cause you to keep your wrist bent (like push-ups) or move your arms vigorously (like dance) may interfere with heart rate signals. If you stop seeing a signal during these types of activities, hold your wrist steady for ten seconds during breaks to get your reading.

User questions & answers
Question: | Has anyone compared the accuracy of the heart rate monitor to the Polar heart rate monitors |
Answer: | If your wrist is 6.5 inches or larger you will definitely want to get the large. If your wrist is smaller than 6.5 you will definitely want the small. Accidentally grabbed a large but thought it would be no big deal since I was at 6.4 but no, definitely needed a small. |
Question: | I'm a female with a wrist measuring 6.5 inches. The small goes up to 6.7. Large starts at 6.3. Any suggestions on which would be better |
Answer: | Like many others, I had hoped to replace a Polar chest strap and wrist heart monitor (which I used for several years) with a single wristband heart monitor device. Having monitored my heart rate (often daily) and (almost always) during exercise with my Polar, during many different activities and on many different exercise machines that display heart rate, I agree with those who have found that the Fitbit heart rate monitor is accurately only up to about 120 bpm. It cannot accurately measure higher rates during intervals, especially quick changes in heart rate. I know that during an interval when I go all out (whatever the exercise) my heart rate goes up to 150-160. But my Fitbit Charge HR has never shown bpm higher than 130. And often during intense exercise (even just on an elliptical machine or a stationary bike or a stairmaster), it just shows dashes and is not measuring my heart rate at all. Extremely disappointing, and I will go back to using a chest strap when I want accurate heart rate info. |
Question: | Has anyone compared it to a chest strap heart rate monitor to check for accuracy? That is primarily what I want this for |
Answer: | I had a orange one and after like a day of wearing it the edges got back. So I just emailed Fitbit and they sent a black one. If anyone would ask me what color to get I would say black or a dark color |
Question: | what's difference between new orange color and old black one |
Answer: | No, the connector appears to be one piece. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Does the display show the time all the time? Or does it only show when tapped or moved like the fit bit charger hr |
Answer: | Actually you can customize the display. I have t only show HR. You can customize it to show a variety of metrics (or remove the ones you don't like). You can also customize the "lift to view" option. I have mine show HR only when lifted but I think I'll change it to show time + HR. it's pretty cool! Just go to settings to customize what shows. The first setting is what shows when you lift/flick your wrist |
Question: | Do the bands for the older Alta fit the new HR |
Answer: | I have the new he and the fit. I will say they are much easier to buckle than the original fit bit bands. However the buckle is slightly irritating for me.. |
Question: | Can you swim with the Alta |
Answer: | Yes but you have to swim with one arm while the arm with the Fitbit is high above the water. People might stare..... |
Question: | How do you know what size to order |
Answer: | My wrist measured at 6.5" and I ordered the small. I wish I would have ordered the large. The small fits, but just barely. In order for it to not be too tight I have to wear it on one of the last notches of the HR band and then it just barely tucks under the loop that secures it. If you are at the cusp between the two sizes I suggest going up in size. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Is this Fitbit waterproof |
Answer: | When it is attached to the Charge2, it is almost 9" from end to end. The band itself measures almost 4" from the edge of the FitBit to the end of the buckle on one side, and about 41/4" from the edge of the FitBit to the end on the side with the holes. I love my band! |

User questions & answers
Question: | Is there a way to calibrate the heart beat? it is really inaccurate as measured by my charge 2, polar, kardia , anybody |
Answer: | There is a whole thread on the Fitbit Community board with multiple users saying how inaccurate the Sense is when measured by accurate heart monitors like the Polar chest strap and that the Sense is only accurate when you are inactive. So if you are just sedentary you are ok. But I've found that it is not as accurate as even the Charge 2. So idk if it can be synced- I don't think so. |
Question: | Does it regiater 02 sats |
Answer: | Yes... It measures SP02, but only at night while sleeping. That is when its important; when the heart is at rest. The Sense does measure the resting heart level. During the day, there is a relationship between breath rate and heart rate. The body calls for more 02 so the heart pumps faster for faster passage of blood through the lungs. You can see this relationship at HEART RATE. At the top there is a heavy white graph of the average resting rate. Swipe LEFT and you will get your cardio score. I have breathing issues sleeping and the Sense has helped me greatly. |
Question: | If i buy this on amazon will the watch only come with alexa support or will it also have the google assistant support as well |
Answer: | At the moment only Alexa is enabled on the watch. Next month there will be an update that enables Google, the ECG and probably SPO2 sensing without a specific watchface. Trust me - Fitbit is about to be owned by Google... Google Assistant will be at least offered on it regardless where you bought it. It's just they need to update the firmware to support it. |
Question: | I need to know if this product measures spo2 levels? that's the only reason i'm looking for a new device |
Answer: | It does Measure spO2 levels while sleeping. Not real-time. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Can you receive text messages from an iphone |
Answer: | I have an iphone 11 and a Versa 2 and yes, you can receive text and phone calls, just not reply or answer without the phone nearby. Nice feature with phone is, you can reject the call from the watch. It needs to be close enough to the phone since it’s bluetooth. It will not do it if it’s not connected to the phone. This feature worked even on the Blaze I used to have connected to an iPhone 8. |
Question: | can it work with my iphone 8 plus |
Answer: | :can it work with my iphone 8 plus? A: You can NOT use the quick reply or voice reply feature if you have any iPhone. These are convenient features but are of NO use on an iPhone. Wish I would’ve know I wouldn’t have gotten this Fitbit |
Question: | can i get this without alexa |
Answer: | You do NOT have to activate Alexa when you setup. But it is very cool. I was just driving and I asked Alexa how far to destination. BAM! |
Question: | Does this watch show blood oxygen (SPo |
Answer: | What does show up on my Versa 2 is a graph of Estimated Oxygen Variation. When you bring up the graph showing the sleep stages during a nights sleep, then scroll down past the bars showing the time spent in each stage, you find a graph of the estimated oxygen variation. A low variation is good and shows as a fairly stable green line - probably in the range of 90 percent oxygen saturation and above. A spike to higher variation - which might indicate apnea - shows up as an orange peak. A couple of nights ago,my wife woke to get me to roll to my side because had been snoring loudly for a while. When I looked at my sleep trace the next day the oxygen variation was low and steady until about a half hour before she woke me, then jumped up and continued rising as an orange line until it suddenly dropped to a normal range - probably when she woke me. Note: I had a sleep study done in February, which confirmed I have episodes of sleep apnea - mainly when I roll onto my back. I am being fitted for a CPAP on Friday, |
