Answer:	From the best I can tell from all the internet research I've done the only difference in the 2 fitbit is the band or strap material. Otherwise they are exactly the same. They give you a fancy band and charge you more. Otherwise the fitbit 4 is identical the the fitbit 4 special edition.
Question:	Does GPS require paying a monthly fee to anyone or is it free
Answer:	Until Fitbit allows GPS phone tethering on the Charge 4 - you are better off with a Charge 3 (or Charge 2). Otherwise you're looking at 1-2 hours battery life while exercising with GPS, missed stats, and constantly recharging this thing (more often than an apple watch). Fitbit could fix this tomorrow by allowing tethering, but they do not, and are censoring the issue on their forums. Don't downgrade!

Answer:	It’s pretty accurate. I was using this while hooked up to a halter monitor. It was very close.

Answer:	I put it next to paper, white sheets and and a white napkin and covered the bands. The images do have a purple tint. It appears that the whole “watch face” is a purple tinted continuous surface. So yes, your eyes see real lilac. There are grey tones and thus some grey dots where the image needs depth or delineation. So, the majority is light lavender and the remainder is grey. It’s pretty darn cool and pretty, too. You will like it. ( my sis has a black band and I also compared face-to-face with hers). Enjoy!
Question:	Is this waterproof? Would it track swimming sessions
Answer:	Yes its waterproof up to 50 meters. Yes it will track swimming sessions. I believe it will track swim duration and distance/laps. The Inspire doesn’t allow you to set the pool length like the more expensive models do though. The HR feature is disabled while swimming. It will automatically recognize swimming (the default is 15 minutes but you can change it to recognize it after 10 minutes of swimming) or you can manually start a swim session through the tracker itself which is what I do with most of my exercises.

Answer:	The charging cord is included, but it may not have the original fitbit charging cord. It is supposed to come with a charging cord that has a button toward the base so that you can restart it if needed, like if the display goes away. The cord that I received through Amazon does not have this button, so restarting it is a bit trickier.

Answer:	This product has not been released yet. The scheduled release is mid- October. I have the original and the 2 now, both of them permit text message reads with limited characters. You may not see the entire message. Call FitBit to confirm or send them an email, customer service is awesome.
Question:	should these be turned off when driving in a car? I made a 24 mile trip in my car and it showed i walked 1 mile and burnt 2000 calories and 10 stairs
Answer:	When I cut grass wearing my Fitbit registers at least 30 percent more steps because the handle of the lawn mower vibrates. It's more accurate when I put the watch in my pocket. Doing this when you drive won't solve the problem with climbing stairs but I noticed that my heart rate is higher when I'm driving. The basal metabolic rate calculated from your age, weight, height, and gender make up half of this calculation. Your heart rate and steps taken are used to calculate the other half of this number so putting your Fitbit in your pocket will help to lower your calorie burn.
Question:	Does the Charge 3 have a countdown timer in addition to the Stopwatch feature
Answer:	It has a countdown timer, but you have to select from a scrolling list of times in increments of 15 seconds. It goes up to 60 minutes. So if you want to set a 30 minute timer, you have to scroll through until you can select 30 minutes. I just tried it and to get to 30 minutes, it required 16 swipes.

(Approx 30 minutes to charge) If there is no light on the battery when you plug it in then it would appear you have a faulty battery.

Question:	When traveling does it have to be removed to clear TSA at the airport
Answer:	I have had it both in my pocket and clipped to my pants and walked through the detectors and nothing has gone off. One time, in China, they hand-wanded me and then asked me to take it off. I travel a lot though and that was the only time I needed to remove it.

Answer:	I take 4 water based exercise programs a week and have a Fitbit Zip. I wear it faithfully and have had no trouble. While I do not “swim”, I do get it wet and have had no trouble.

Answer:	You need Internet connectivity to connect to fitbit.com. However, the device itself communicates to your computer via a dongle, provided in the box when you buy the fitbit. The online interface provides context for the data collected. Way cool.

Answer:	The more batteries I put in it, they don't last as long. I have been to their help page, and it is an apparent problem. I performed the update with each battery replacement, and have even turned off some of the capabilities (like calories burned and time), and the last battery lasted only 2 days. One post stated the more 'other' wifi dependent devices this thing comes into contact with, the shorter the battery life. We can't help that these days, and if this is a problem for this sort of device, it's an epic fail. Loved it brand new. Tired of it by the battery issues. Amazon sells the Energizer CR2025s (recommended as the battery best for prolonged life in their battery blog) in 10 packs for less than one in a drug store. Data is lost at battery change, so be aware of all this when buying.

How do I reset my tracker?

lf your tracker is not responding, it may be fixed by restarting.

How do I reinstall the battery?

Your Zip's display is powered by a 3V coin battery, CR 2025. If your Zip won't turn on, it may be due to a drained or misaligned battery.



To reinstall the battery in your Zip:

1. Insert the battery door tool into the rear door slot of your Zip and turn it counter-clockwise to unlock the battery door.
2. Remove the door and battery.
3. Reinsert your battery with the positive (+) end facing up, and replace the battery door.
4. Insert the battery tool and turn clockwise to lock the battery door. The door should be flush with the rear of the tracker.
