User questions & answers
Question: | What year was Invicta model 26973 made |
Answer: | The Invicta company that made your watch started in 1991 after a group purchased the rights from an old Swiss company of the same name. I am not sure when the pro diver was introduced but, have seen you tube reviews on this watch as far back as 2010. They are great watches in automatic or quartz and can go over a decade without service minus the batteries in the quartz which last about 30 months. |
Question: | What if its to smell |
Answer: | Then don't buy or smell it. |
Question: | Do you have to constantly change the days of the month or can it do that by itself |
Answer: | Any analog watch not advertised explicitly as a Perpetual Calendar watch that has the day of the month on its display in any form will have to be adjusted for months that don't have 31 days to remain correctly set with respect to what day of the month it is. Bear in mind, however, that you ONLY have to do this 5 times in any year, on the first days of the months of March, May, July, October, and December. That's only slightly more than twice as often as you have to adjust your watch for the counterproductive idiocy that is DST. I have a day/date watch and it takes me literally about 3 to 5 seconds to do this task. I have now spent several years' worth of adjusting the date on my watch explaining this, just to give you an idea how long it DOESN'T take to adjust it. I've tried perpetual calendar watches, BTW... the complexity and extra cost make the adjustable kind preferable, IMHO. Perpetuals are not worth the expense. If you want to save $$$s, and you can't spend the... half a minute each year correcting the date, my recommendation is lay out the CASH to buy an expensive, complex, difficult to set, (comparatively) perpetual calendar watch, OR... just buy a nice, cheap digital one. But in answer to your question, yeah, this watch appears to require the 5x/year date adjustment. If it were perpetual, it would likely cost a hundred or more additional dollars to do what otherwise amounts to the same thing. |

Question: | Is this a fake or an invicta original |
Answer: | I doubt you'd find a fake Invicta on Amazon but what you must watch out for is being sent a standard Invicta when ordering and paying for the Reserve edition. Screw Down Crowns: Many Invicta watches are equipped with a screw down crown to help prevent water infiltration. This is most common on our Diver models. In order to adjust the date and/or time on such a watch, you must first unscrew the crown before you can gently pull it out to its first or second click stop position. To do this, simply rotate the crown counterclockwise until it springs open. When you have finished setting the watch, the crown must then be pushed in and screwed back in tightly. Not doing so will cancel the water resistance of the watch and will void all warranties from the manufacturer. Overall, this process should not require a lot of effort or force.

User questions & answers
Question: | Why is this watch called a Pro Diver and rated for 200m but says in the description not for diving |
Answer: | Well as basic "dive" inspired watchs go , a minimum of 100m is needed to be called a dive watch . Now this invicta with the seiko movement is a great watch . One of my daily wears . But as for a certified dive watch well , it must be iso 6425 rated. I have swam with my invicta and had no problems. Ocean , pool , snorkel. It has been in 75 foot of water. So it is 200 m rated. Now you can just by swimming create a 100 m of force on the watch . So that being said these watchs are all tested staticly sitting in calm water. Now my watch like my marathon GSAR and my seiko skx009p9 are iso 6425 rated and are dive certified. It is a lot to explain here , so look up iso 6425 and it will explain it all better. I hope that helps a little. This invicta is a great watch . The seiko movement in it is in some of their $500.00 watchs , so its a steal. Enjoy. |
Question: | I want to order an extra silicon band for model 23678 ...which one do i order |
Answer: | size the watch band. then order the size you need. |
Question: | What with of the strap it accepts? 20mm |
Answer: | 20 mm |
Question: | This is my first automatic watch. I keep it in a watch box and wear it 3-4 times a week. How do you keep this thing charged so it doesn't stop |
Answer: | You can manually wind the watch. Use of a watch winder will wear out your watch and cause it to be serviced more often. Most watchmakers recommend winding 10 to 20 times when you put it on and then let the motion of your arm wind it from there. |

Invicta Pro Diver
Plunge into any horizon using the steadfast guidance of the Invicta Pro Diver. Stylishly classic, internal workings are forged with variations of bold movements. Built with confident prowess, the fortitude with which these timepieces function makes the Pro Diver the quintessential in performance.
Product description
With a bold design, this Invicta chronograph has a poised and calm ambience that’s sure to have you looking twice.
Classic styling and high performance add up to an outstanding sport watch for your land or sea adventures. This automatic watch, from Invicta's Pro Diver series, places a large round stainless steel case on a robust triple link steel bracelet. The black dial is designed for quick and easy read-off, even in low light conditions. It offers three-hand function with Tritnite-coated luminous hands and hour markers and a magnified date display at the three o'clock mark. The dial is capped with a resilient mineral crystal and framed by a black unidirectional rotating steel bezel with coin edge detailing. This watch is driven by Japanese automatic movement, which is visible through the see-through skeleton case back. It is rated water resistant to a full 660 feet (200 meters).
Automatic Watches
Automatic watches do not operate on batteries. Automatic watches are made up of about 130 or more parts that work together to tell time. Automatic movements mark the passage of time by a series of gear mechanisms, and are wound by the movement of your wrist as you wear it. The gear train then transmits the power to the escapement, which distributes the impulses, turning the balance wheel. The balance wheel is the time regulating organ of a mechanical watch, which vibrates on a spiral hairspring. Lengthening or shortening the balance spring makes the balance wheel go faster or slower to advance or retard the watch. The travel of the balance wheel from one extreme to the other and back again is called oscillation. When this type of watch is removed from your wrist, the movement winds down in 10 to 72 hours, depending on the size of its winding reserve Lastly, automatic movements come in different types, including movements that are Swiss-made, Japanese-made, and more.
Also referred to as self-winding, watches with automatic movements utilize kinetic energy, the swinging of your arm, to provide energy to an oscillating rotor to keep the watch ticking. They're considered more satisfying to watch collectors (horologists) because of the engineering artistry that goes into the hundreds of parts that make up the movement. If you do not wear an automatic watch consistently (for about 8 to 12 hours a day), you can keep the watch powered with a watch winder (a great gift for collectors).
Screw Down Crowns: Many Invicta watches are equipped with a screw down crown to help prevent water infiltration. This is most common on our Diver models. In order to adjust the date and/or time on such a watch, you must first unscrew the crown before you can gently pull it out to its first or second click stop position. User questions & answers
Question: | Is there a self help on removing two or three links? I have the tools |
Answer: | Search "Invicta Link Removal" on You Tube. There are many videos, some are better than others. Pay attention to the direction of the arrows on the bracelet links. |
Question: | What is the difference between invicta 8926ob pro diver and invicta 17044 pro diver, the second is cheaper, what are other differences |
Answer: | They are pretty much the same watch and both have an Automatic Seiko movement (NH35A). The only difference I have found is the 8926OB face is more similar to the Rolex Submariner, with tabs instead of dots at the 3, 6 and 9 positions. Also, the loupe over the date window is slightly more powerful on the 8926OB, making it easier to read the date. I have both watches and prefer the 8926OB! |
Question: | Can enough links be removed to accommodate a 6.5" (approx.) wrist |
Answer: | Yes. I have a 6.25" wrist, and had to remove all but one link. So for a 6.5" wrist, removing all but 2 should be fine. The respondent above who said the links are graduated in size is mistaken. All the _removable_ links are the same size. |
Question: | What is the difference between 8926OB and 17044 ? Which is the better one |
Answer: | The 8926OB has straight indicese at 6 and 9 while the 17044 has round ones. The band width on the 8926 is 20mm while 18mm on the 17044. The case thickness on the 8926 is 11mm while 14mm on the 17044.17044 is a newer model (jan 2014) and the 8926OB is 2006 (with a new version in 2011). Also, the 17044 lists a "stopwatch" as a special feature. |
