But it tapers down to the actual pole at approx 3/4 of an inch. purchased the 8ft 2000# rated and used initially for my jetski. I am now using them for my 17.5ft boat and I am very pleased with them. Answer:	Just loosen the set screw and they just slip out.
Question:	how do the poles come out of the holders to be put away securely when not in use on a river side dock
Answer:	What we have done before is to buy a stainless steel "eye" with a short thread and screw it into the hole replacing the set screw in the coupling on the one inch pole run the line through that "eye" but make sure it is in the down position.
Question:	Do you sell a pully that can be attached to the connector to keep the rope closer to the fiberglass rod
Answer:	The pole is solid, not tubular, but it is shipped in two pieces. The coupler has set screws to hold the two pieces together inside. If you enlarge the full-length photo of the whip, you can see the coupler in the middle.
