Question:	What size pilot holes did you all drill into the fiberglass to prevent stress cracks
Answer:	You want to apply masking tape over the area where you will mount the fasteners. I measure and mark it out on the tape exactly where the center of the holes need to be then drill a tiny pilot hole. Then I drill the holes using the pilot holes as a guide. I think they tell you the size you need to use to fit screws properly and I use a little sealant in screw threads and under the brackets to keep potential water out of fiberglass core.

Answer:	The deformation load on this pad eye is 2500lbs installed on steel plate with bolts. The load that will pull it away from wood or fiberglass when installed with screws is significantly lower, so in practice the installation will dictate the load it can sustain. As examples, at a 4:1 safety ratio, 625lb is the WLL and at 5:1, the WLL is 500lbs.
