Answer:	This thing is made with very durable materials. I don’t see any reason why it couldn’t handle salt water.

Answer:	Any dog with sharp claws could. What we did was line the bottom of it with cheap artificial turf because we were fishing in it and didn’t want to bring a fish in and have the hook put a hole in the bottom. The good thing is the bottom portion is a different section of air, so even if your dog popped the bottom then you’d still have the main outer portion full of air. But if you put a dog in there, I would make sure you have a life jacket if you will be far from shore. We were in a pretty slow moving river, so I wasn’t too worried about it.
