12 best co2 regulator for paintball tank
A CO2 regulator for a paintball tank is an essential component for controlling the flow of carbon dioxide (CO2) gas from the tank to the paintball marker (gun). It plays a crucial role in maintaining consistent and safe pressure levels, ensuring that the marker operates effectively during gameplay. Here's what you need to know about CO2 regulators for paintball tanks:
Pressure Regulation: The primary function of a CO2 regulator is to regulate the high-pressure CO2 gas stored in the paintball tank and reduce it to a safe and usable level for the paintball marker. Most paintball markers require a consistent output pressure, typically in the range of 800 to 850 psi (pounds per square inch).
Compatibility: CO2 regulators are designed to be compatible with standard paintball tanks, which typically come in various sizes, such as 9 oz, 12 oz, 20 oz, or larger. Make sure to choose a regulator that fits the thread type of your specific paintball tank.
Adjustability: Many CO2 regulators offer adjustable output pressure settings, allowing players to fine-tune the pressure to suit their marker's requirements. This adjustability can impact the marker's performance, so it's essential to set it correctly.
Gauges: CO2 regulators often come with pressure gauges that display the tank's input pressure and the regulated output pressure. These gauges help users monitor the pressure levels and make adjustments as needed.
On/Off Valves: Some regulators feature an on/off valve that allows you to shut off the gas flow when not in use. This feature helps conserve CO2 and prevent gas leaks.
Safety Features: Quality CO2 regulators should include safety features such as pressure relief valves that release excess pressure to prevent damage to the regulator or the paintball marker.
Installation: Installing a CO2 regulator on a paintball tank is typically a straightforward process that involves attaching the regulator to the tank's valve and securing it in place with a wrench.
Maintenance: Regular maintenance, such as cleaning and lubricating O-rings and seals, is essential to ensure the regulator functions correctly and does not develop leaks over time.
Replacement Parts: In the event of damage or wear, it's essential to be able to find replacement parts for your CO2 regulator to keep your paintball setup in good working condition.
Cost: The price of CO2 regulators can vary depending on their features and brand. Basic regulators are more affordable, while high-end models with advanced features may come at a higher cost.
When choosing a CO2 regulator for your paintball tank, consider factors such as compatibility with your tank, adjustability, and any additional features you may need. A reliable regulator is essential for maintaining a consistent and safe gas supply to your paintball marker during games.

User questions & answers
Question: | Does this include the paint ball tank |
Answer: | No. It is another $20 for the paint ball tank. |
Question: | How long does a paintball cylinder typically last when used on a 50-gal tank |
Answer: | i would recommend a 5lb -20lb co2 cylinder for a 50g tank. i get about 3-4 months at 1 bubble per second with my 12g long. |
Question: | How does the Solenoid work? How does it know when to turn on and off? Is it configurable |
Answer: | The solenoid work best if you connect it to a timer. When the timer is ON, the solenoid will open as well - letting the Co2 pass through. When the timer is OFF, he solenoid will close stopping the flow. In my case I have it connected to the same timer that is running the lights, so when lights are on the bubbles start flowing, and they stop as soon as lights go off. It is not configurable, the power will make it open, lack of power will make it close. What you can configure or change is the flow rate. |
Question: | Why don't you ship to Canada |

User questions & answers
Question: | Does the mad dog remote coil work with this because mine is not doing anything when I hook it up not even wen I press nipple on top |
Answer: | What I did was, instead of pushing the straw into the cone attachment, I pushed the straw *out* of the cone attachment, then attached the merged units onto the duster. Hope that helps. |
Question: | What connectors does this use? For refill and for output |
Answer: | No, it is not ESD safe, but can be used if careful. The material is plastic which is an insulator that holds a charge. We are talking potentially thousands of volts! Keep the nozzles at least a few inches away from the motherboard or any electronics, spray from a distance, this is a powerful blower so it still works great. Never use the brushes on anything internal, only use them on case exterior, keyboard, etc. |
Question: | Am I going to die if I put this on a mini gs |
Answer: | The amount of pressure is very close to canned air, just a bit less than a full can of air. There is no build up limit, the power reaches 100% upon flipping the "On" switch. There are 2 speeds. |
Question: | Does it use compressed air |
Answer: | No you don’t need to remove the fans. They need to be blown out also. Just make sure you unplug the power before blowing it out. |

User questions & answers
Question: | will this work on my sig Sauer mcx |
Answer: | It works fine for my mpx |
Question: | is there a shutoff valve to fit between tank and paintball gun so you can keep tank attached at all times |
Answer: | Hi, No, no shutoff valve. Removing the tank while still charged can be tricky if not dangerous. It's best to run the charge down and then slowly loosen the tank until the remainder of the charge leaks out before removing the tank from the adapter. |
Question: | Will this adapter work with JT 88 gram disposable tanks |
Answer: | Yes it will work with any 88/90 gram disposable tank. |
Question: | Will it convert a 20oz co2 tank to fit a jt tactical |
Answer: | No. |

All metal CO2 Regulators has a 0-125 PSI pressure range with a maximum inlet pressure of 1200 PSI with a safety burst disc rating of 1800 PSI. Fits standards CO2 paint ball. Comes standard with a pressure gauge, dial regulator knob & integeated steel belt clip. The cylinder and regulator are not for oxygen service or use. WRCO2 regulator comes installed with a safety relief device (burst disc, CG-1). The Rating of the burst disc is 1800 psi at standard conditions. This safety device is in addition to the one that comes on the co2 cylinder, which is also a CG-1 burst disc rated at 3000 psi. The paint ball and other co2 cylinders are US DOT Approved cylinders to 3AL specification and are rated at a service pressure of 1800 psi with a safety factor of 2.25 and are required to be hydrotested at a pressure of 1.5x service pressure every 5 years. Warning: Co2 can cause injury (suffocation & Asphyxiation) or death, ventilate the area before entering. Co2 is stored at very high pressure and a liquid Co2 is at cryogenic temperatures which can cause injury, burn, explosion, or death. Co2 should be handled by a trained professional and extreme caution should be taken when dealing with Co2. For safety always wear protective gear.
User questions & answers
Question: | Is it a true fully adjustable regulator, say in the range of 90-140 psi? My intention is to use it for my air horns in my car |
Answer: | The steadiness of it at lower pressures (30 PSI or less) is somewhat wobbly. But anything above 80 PSI 'n she's steady as a rock. Be advised, it is designed for low-flow. Be advised, continuous CO₂ flow from a liquid source tank through a pressure regulator will freeze up a regulator. The smaller the regulator, the more susceptible it is to this fundamental fact of physics. Intermittent use is not generally a problem. Steady honking to completely empty a 2-lb tank is likely to be a problem. |
Question: | What rupture disk fits this regulator? Looks to be 3000K |
Answer: | The rupture disk rating must match your tank design. This one DOES have a 3KPSI disk. |
Question: | Can you use this with a co2 tank with a siphon tube for airing up a tire or two |
Answer: | Not sure what a siphon tube is. Yes you can use this to air up tires. That is exactly how I use mine. Hooked up to air hose and air chuck |
Question: | Where can I buy just the safety release assembly (part 52 in schematic |
Answer: | I have them. Unfortunately, I do not sell them on Amazon. |

User questions & answers
Question: | can this be used with the sodastream |
Answer: | I dont know if it would fit sodstream as i never used it with that system. as the name says CO2 Paintball Tanks so it must be for it. |
Question: | Is the female fitting for a W.21 or Din |
Answer: | Hi, the female fitting connects to a pin-valve CO2 paintball tank (G 1/2-14 threads). |
Question: | Will this adapter connect from 5/8" unf regulator to sodastream carbonator |
Answer: | we used something similar - but then learned that using food grade CO2 was important. Our carbonation supply place couldn't fill the paintball tanks and we ended up having to switch over to the 5 lb tanks - good bye sodastream |
Question: | Dumb question, but when I screw this adapter onto my CO2 tank, will CO2 shoot out the relief hole? Do I just need to screw it on quickly? TIA |
Answer: | I have this problem, it comes out of the relief hole |

User questions & answers
Question: | What us the guage thread size |
Answer: | It's probably 1/8 NPT. If not it's 1/8 BSP. It is definitely not 7/8 U.S. thread. The 7/8 thread is the gauge of the tank and valve attachment thread, not the gauge to the valve thread size. |
Question: | What thread is being used for the pressure gauge? is it 1/8 bspp or 1/8 npt ? or is it 1/4 bspp or 1/4 npt? thanks |
Answer: | I went to a hydraulic shop in Orlando and they couldn't find a thread size. It was a large shop and they were stumped. At those pressures I didn't want to risk a rupture so I sent the unit back |
Question: | I have a 13ci tank and would like to know if this is the output regulator that I can use on my bigger tank to fill out my 13ci |
Answer: | I have this valve on a 30min SCBA fireman’s carbon tank. I know there’s a few different threads depending on the bottle or tank you have. I did a few hours homework Online to find out that this valve would fit all 30,45 & 60 minute SCBA Carbon rescue tanks. I also had to change the O-ring on this valve to a 90-D and use some divers silicone grease to stop it from leaking. After that it worked great for filling my PCP rifles. |
Question: | Whats the output pressure |
Answer: | The output pressure is controlled by the valve, and readout is on the gauge |

User questions & answers
Question: | Is it smart to use this to fill co2 tanks with compressed air |
Answer: | No. CO2 cylinders are not rated for the same high pressure that compressed air cylinders are rated for. CO2 cylinders are rated for a maximum pressure of 860 psi and compressed air cylinders can be rated at 3000 psi and higher. Even if you use a CO2 cylinder and fill it to no more than 860 psi you will not get the same kind of volume out of it because at 860 psi the carbon dioxide is a liquid inside the cylinder and air is still a gas. Both will expand but the expansion ratio for CO2 is about 535 to 1 and this is much higher than the air. |
Question: | Can i use this just to check the current pressure on my 12oz co2 tanks? would i need something else? thanks |
Answer: | Are those tankst threaded and refillable ? If not . tben no . |
Question: | Does this have a bleeder to release pressure in the line |
Answer: | It does not have a bleeder valve to release the line pressure, but it will let you empty out whatever it is you’re filling, an air bottle in my case. My compressor and hand pump have bleeder valves and I bleed the line that way. |
Question: | Does the gauge read from the tank side or the npt-threaded side of the adapter? In other words, with the valve closed will it read the input pressure |
Answer: | Have mine set up for PCP rifle to check output of regulator on tank. Mine has a slide to bleed air out of tank if need be and gauge is attached to that. With valve open it should read tank pressure. With valve closed it will read input pressure from npt if it's greater then the pressure that's trapped inside the valve from tank. Will upload pic of my setup with slide to bleed out air in tank and valve b4 removal as to not blow out oring off bottle. Makes taking valve off easy since there is no pressure. |
