Question:	can I get extra gaskets for the inside of the connector
Answer:	Yes. They can be purchased at the retailer that provides your bulk CO2 tank. One word of warning!!! My system came assembled with the WRONG diameter fitting ("female") for a CO2 tank. It was an O2 fitting. Check with your gas supply outlet for the correct part. It cost about $6.00. I never got a reply from the seller concerning this manufacturing screwup.!!

does this ball lock hose configuration work with sodastream co2 bottles

Answer:

It works with ALL Sodastream CO2 tanks with this thread. Pin, flat, grooved flat, I have them all. Tanks from 2008, all the way to the latest tank I have from 2020. It doesn't work with the old 70's sodastream stuff since that uses a standard paintball tank thread. People who are having problems are either not tightening the thing on enough to engage either the valve or the seal, or there may be a quality control issue where the pin in these regulators is installed at differing heights? Cannot prove the latter since mine is flawless with all tanks. I can prove the former since operator error is the typical failure scenario. I absolutely love this thing. I use it to replace the sodastream hardware for doing the carbonating. All you need is one of the stainless bottle caps with the ball lock end on it. Fill soda bottle to about 1.5" from the top. Squeeze bottle to remove air while tightening stainless cap. Connect to this item, set at 40 PSI. Shake vigorously, and done! I make at least 20 drinks per day of .5 to 1.5 L each. Your CO2 will last WAY longer since there is no waste at all. The Sodastream machines have a popoff valve (makes the burp sounds) that release CO2 at max pressure, which represents an entire drink worth of carbonation lost per sound. I refill the tanks myself with dry ice. I did have to replace one hose clamp as it was impossible to keep it from leaking (the one near the ball lock) since it doesn't create an even circle when tightened down. Needs better clamps with no low spots for this type of tube.

Instructions:

1. Screw the SodaStream adapter into the main piece.

2. Connect the main piece to the donor cylinder(Large CO2 Tank).Make sure that all the valves are completely closed.

3. Screw the SodaStream cylinder into the adapter.

4. Turn the knob of the SodaStream adapter to completely open the cylinder valve.

5. Open the valve on the donor cylinder to release the gas.

6. Open the ON/OFF valve on the main piece.(Please Refer to NOTE:)

7. You will hear gas flowing into the cylinder. Refilling takes roughly 30-60 seconds.

8. Once refilling is complete,stop the CO2 by turning the ON/OFF valve.

11. Remove the SodaStream cylinder from the adapter.

12. Repeat the refill process for each cylinder.

1.SodaStream cylinders have filling protection valve to prevent you from refilling them.Unlike the other cylinder valves, this valve must be filled with a slow increase in pressure.

When refilling, it is important that the pressure in the first few seconds is very low, only the cylinder valve remains open. The ON/OFF valve is therefore open at the beginning only slightly and very slowly until some gas flows through (this can heard). Wait about 10 seconds and then open a little more until it's all the way open.Wait about 30-60 seconds until you hear no gas flows, filling can be complete.If you open the ON/OFF valve too fast, you may need to close donor cylinder, bleed the line and start over.

Question:	Is there any risk of overfilling the soda stream canister
Answer:	Yes, it is possible (although you need to really try as it requires freezing and refreezing sodastream bottles in the process). Pressure gauges are of no help since we deal with gas/liquid mix. I highly recommend getting an accurate kitchen scale to check how much CO2 ends up in the bottle (something like with 5kg max and 1g resolution - typically cost is $10-20). Empty bottle weight is stamped on the outside (or just measure it). The maximum net weight is also written on the bottle. It you overfill the stated max net weight then just bleed the excess. Also, if you do overfill the bottle nothing will happen right away. But if you heat it up afterwards it may exceed the max allowed pressure and it will burst the safety relief valve (but at least it will not explode).
Question:	I was told new sodastream bottles are different. Does this work with new sodastream bottles
Answer:	Yes, but the device is useless unless you can acquire a CO2 cylinder with a dip tube or figure out some way to hold a cylinder upside down to refill it. In my area, a 50 lb or larger cylinder can be had with a dip tube with a $500 deposit on the cylinder. I use a braided steel hose connected to a 5 lb commercial cylinder. The up-front costs are $150 or more, but the refill cost is less than $25 for a cylinder exchange. One advantage of that system is that one does not need to be concerned about the testing and service life of the cylinder, they do not last forever. The disadvantage of my system is that it is unsightly unless you can hide the cylinder in a cabinet of something similar and you have to remember to close the valve on the cylinder when not in use as very small leaks are hard to and at least on the hose and adapters I have, have numerous swivel fittings and connectors that are difficult to keep sealed. In the long run, depending on how much you use the system, the investment will pay for itself. Where I live in Illinois, the only place I can do an exchange of a 14.5 oz cylinder is Wal Mart for $16. That is roughly five exchanges for one with a commercial cylinder. And one can for an additional deposit on the cylinder use a 10 or 20 lb cylinder and maybe make one trip per year to the gas supplier; in time, I may do that myself. The cost of the gas per pound is the same. Thus, unless you can acquire a cylinder with a dip tube that a commercial industrial gas supplier will fill and refill, and remember that they must be retested periodically and have a limit to their safe useful life which means that at some point the gas supplier will not refill it, this device is not very useful in the long run. The same thing will happen to both sizes of Sodastream cylinders, especially the larger of the two that are required to be tested and have a service life limit. My advice would be to contact your commercial gas supplier to get the cost of their services and equipment, consider the hose system, or find where you can do the Sodastream cylinder exchange and cost and how much you will use the thing. Depending on your needs it might be the most effective to buy a spare cylinder and have it on hand when needed and exchange the empty one at your convenience. Also, I almost forgot to mention, at some point, the remaining gas in any kind of cylinder will not produce any carbonation. My first 5 lb cylinder stopped producing anything useful when it still had a little more than 2 lbs in it. If that happens again, then I will probably upgrade to a 20 lb cylinder if the difference in the deposit is not to much.
Question:	I can only get it to fill half way. Turned donor upside down. Followed instructioms what else can i do to fill it all the way
Answer:	You have to hold the bottles so the liquid is transferred. There has to be a pressure differential to allow the pressure in the donor tank to drive liquid into the receiving sodastream tank. And yes, you can overfill. Attach the manifold to the CO2 tank using supplied gasket. Close the Escape Valve (vent), ON/OFF valve, and retract the pin depressor on the sodastream adapter. Chill the sodastream bottle in the freezer for 15 minutes. This will drop the internal pressure relative to your donor tank. Then attach the sodastream tank. Next, we vent air from the manifold, and further reduce the pressure in the sodastream tank. Screw the pin depressor in on the sodastream adapter. Now open the On/off valve. Then open the escape valve momentarily to vent gas from the sodastream bottle...and reclose it. Your sodastream residual CO2 has flushed the air from the manifold...nd the escaping gas further reduces the sodastream tank pressure. Now with the CO2 bottle inverted...(unless euipped with a siphon tube) open the CO2 tank valve to allow liquid to flow into the sodastream tank. Then close the co2 tank valve, retract the pin on the sodastream adapter, open the vent carefully to allow trapped liquid to escape the manifold. Close the vent and on/off valve...lastly remove the sodastream bottle and weigh it. It should NOT weigh more than the sum of the TARE weight stamped on the cylinder and the capacity. Commonly, TARE of 750g, capacity of 410g...so no more than 1,160g FULL. I usually have around 1,130g after filling, which is good to be UNDER the maximum.
Question:	I can't get co2 past the first valve (on-off valve) on the adapter under pressure. no small co2 tank attached. i can blow air through with my mouth
Answer:	Charles A's response is spot on. I've done maybe 20 refills and found the on-off valve to be super finicky. After reading his answer, I opened my unit up and removed the the little rubber valve seal (requires 1.5 mm allen wrench and 14mm wrench) and re-assembled it with valve "wide open". I control the fill by just cracking open the valve on my donor tank and letting it fill slowly. Much better now.
