Answer:	No. it's held on by four screws. Have used several of these with indication a recoil lug is needed. ( Unless maybe when it's mounted on a very hard recoiling round.) But these don't come with a recoil lug and for a 700 SA, there's no round I know of that will have too much recoil to worry about. Blue light tight if you want to, most you'll need.
