It's one of the few bottles I consider for backpacking. The kidney shape fits well in the side pocket and it's easy to drink from when walking at a fast pace. |

| Answer: | I've not needed to microwave it and yes, if you store it with the cap closed you can develop a little "fungus" but, no it is not a problem the "fungus" (if that's what it is) does show but avoid it by storing it with the cap open. |

| Answer: | The cap doesn’t fall into any recyclable number, but the base is a BPA free #7 plastic, meaning it falls into the “other” category for recyclables. Nalgene’s older bottles were made using BPA containing polycarbonate, but that was years ago. All of the drinking bottles nowadays are heat/dishwasher safe and indefinitely re-usable. |

| Answer: | It is dishwasher safe. The bottle part doesn't fit in the top shelf of my dishwasher, so I put it on the bottom. I put the lid on the top shelf. I've had this bottle for over a year and have had no problems. |

| Answer: | You might be happier with a different bottle / lid style. Wide mouth bottles are not for people who want to drink from a small hole. I love my wide mouth bottles. The simple design of the lid, and wide mouth bottle design, makes them very easy to clean. Pouring in or out is fast and easy, seal is quick and leakproof, bottles are extremely tough and durable.
