Answer:	They are really durable and don't seem so easy to scratch up, in my opinion. However, I am not a cat person and am not familiar with their destructive nature regarding scratching. They also have a 10-year warranty, so definitely worth trying.

Answer:	The mat has a smooth surface that is easy to wipe clean and it bevels downward about an inch from the edge of the mat. There are no indents and the mat is very comfortable to stand on, make a difference when you're at the sink washing dishes. My only problem is it is not kitty proof, didn't claim to be but if you have cats they seem to like clawing these mats. After that there are tiny gauges and makes it harder to clean. If you don't have cats, these mats are perfect! Hope this helps.

To speed up the drying process, you can roll up a piece of paper towel and put the roll 3/4 the way down the bottle (with the top of the roll out the top of the bottle, like a wick) and leave it overnight.
