While holding the plastic edge, the ring of the plastic that goes around the nozzle eventually worked out so I could see its loop and I snipped that loop with a scissors. Once it was cut, a couple more rotations of turning it to open and closed work the remaining plastic out. It was honestly a process to remove something that should just have a serrated edge so it tears off. |

But being glass it keeps crisper flavors; the silicon sleeve to me was more for grip because a smooth glass surface is not very grippy. |

I wouldn't leave the bike rack on when you are not planning on transporting bikes. It's easy to remove and also impedes access to the trunk so I wouldn't leave it on if you are not actively using it. |
