Ours lasted a whole year, using it during 5 or 6 events, with several hours of usage each time. However, it doesn't really turn off...so, if you want the C batteries to last, you need to undo the latch. It has some sort of a power saver mode that kicks in after a period of non-usage, however, it still drains the batteries quick if you don't unlatch it when you know it will be setting for awhile. Overall, I love the megaphone, but would chose a different brand based on these weird issues. |

| Answer: | The body of the battery fits inside the white housing that is the main body of the megaphone. The plug for the battery fits inside the receptacle that is underneath the short spring inside the red butt of the megaphone. The best way to fit the battery is (1) place the megaphone with the speaker lying flat on a table and the red butt standing up; (2) open the red butt portion by depressing the red button by the "Audion Line In" connection; (3) place the main body of the battery inside the white housing of the megaphone; (4) fit the battery connection into the receptacle that is next to the short spring inside the red butt. (When connected into the receptacle, the battery connection with run parallel to the black and red wire that connects the red butt to the white housing of the megaphone.) Remember to charge the re-chargeable battery. |
