Answer:	My son plays 11U travel ball. He uses the 12" model and his glove has seen a ton of play. It's a good glove, but maybe a bit big for your 8U. Maybe if you go with 11", your child can use it without issue and still grow into it. My other kid uses glove for 7U and it is quite smaller than 11". Hope this helps.

The bottom line is this a great backyard, recreational glove to play catch with or use for some recreational baseball or softball and it is more important to get the size that fits your hand size. Question:	Will this glove be to big to use for my niece ?? She’s 9 yrs old
Answer:	It depends on which association she plays for and what size ball they use. My daughter is 10 and used a 9" ball for her 10U travel team. Next year she moves up to 12U and will be using 12" balls. During tryouts we realized she was having trouble catching the larger balls with her smaller glove. So we picked up the 12" version of the Mizuno MVP Prime, and it seems to fit well with some room for growth over the next couple of seasons. At this age, I would not go any larger than the 12" model though.
