CHOOSING THE RIGHT LENS

Let’s start with the basics. Variable light transmission, VLT for short, measures the amount of light transmission through a lens. The lower the VLT the more tint the lens has. The brighter it is outside, the lower the optimal VLT for your lens. Bluebird days mean LOTS of light amplified by that white snow. Clouds or storms reduce light. Using a higher VLT helps you see more contrast in that situation. We recommend arming yourself with both a low and high VLT lens. Don’t get blinded by the light.

Answer:	The red lens has a VLT (Visible Light Transmission) of 19%, the Green one of 22%, the yellow one of 80%. The Green and the red are category 2 lenses while the yellow one is a category 1 lens. We recommend the Green and the Red ones for sunny or partially covered days, the Yellow one for night and cloudy days.

Answer:	Our Ski Goggles feature an innovative double lens with both lenses laminated together this means larger field of vision, no reflection and superior anti-fog compared to normal double lens. Traditional ski goggles feature 2 lenses (the outer and the inner one) separated by a thin layer of air, this causes refractions and with time allows impurity to sediment between the two lenses lowering the clarity of the ski goggle. In the past the 2 lenses were needed to help preventing the fogging, but with the improvement in the materials available nowadays better performance can be achieved by laminating an anti-fog film directly to the main lens. Several competition grade lenses adopt a multilayer technology similar to the one we use to allow racers to have better clarity and contrast at high speed while keeping the ski goggles fog free.

Answer:	The final pictures of this entry show the strap inserted into the areas where the temples have been removed. By pressing the side ‘buttons’ on the outside right and left temples, the strap can then be inserted into the area once occupied by the left and right arms of the glasses It isn’t so visible because the frames are black but the process of swapping them out is quite seamless and they are quite sturdy when the strap is inserted into the front portion of the frame.

VLT 0-8% - Suitable for sunny day with bright light. VLT 9-18% - Suitable for sunny to partly cloudy day. VLT 19-42% - Suitable for overcast, cloudy, foggy day. They just want their question to be answered with something besides "I dont know" Yes, this will fit your helmet. The higher the VLT the better you will be able to see in low light conditions. If you want something to protect against bright light stick with the low VLT and dark lense.

Answer:	It depends on the weather. They have the percentage of transparency (VLT), VLT11-18 % are for clear days and 99% are complete Transparent. I have black and they were perfect for sunny and cloudy days

Answer:	You certainly can! We have just stocked up on a whole range of replacement lenses, including several options with VLT 80% and higher, all suitable for night skiing. Replacement lenses are being sold separately here on amazon and you can find them by searching "outdoormaster replacement lens". Last year our replacement lenses were constantly running low on stock, so we suggest you to get your replacement lenses early. We wish you a awesome skiing season!
