The depth of the backpack varies, of course, depending on the contents it's holding. The butterfly clip on the backpack conveniently slides through a vent on the helmet to keep it snug against the outside of the bag. This keeps the helmet safely secured to the backpack and leaves more room for personal stuff in the internal storage compartments. (Backpack does not include skates or helmet)

Wet pocket

The storage compartment underneath the bag is one of the most crucial areas for skaters. The bottom YKK zipper allows access and has a separate pocket that can hold wet, sweaty clothing or dirty shoes to keep them away from cleaner items. This hidden storage does take up some of the internal space but does not come in direct contact with those items.
