I weighed this rack system against ceiling and standing them in tubes against a wall (storages) and after installing this rack, really appreciate the organization aspect it offers in the garage (off the deck, separated evenly and tighter against the wall). I also have to think the combination of ski materials used nowadays are resilient to handle this type of load-stress in storage. Cheers. |

| Answer: | It should as long as you bind the skis together. My guess is, if you hang CC skis without binding them together, they will separate at the bottom and the curve on the tips will not be enough to hold the skis in place. With downhill skis we just put them together with the ski brakes holding them together and the rack works fine. Hope this makes sense. |

To make it work on the horizontal you would need 2 of them and then some kind of wood block hanging off the joists to allow the skis to slide in the and rest against the bottom bar of the bracket. Also this rack doesnt work for wide thick skis, with the pair of skis back to back, they are too thick as one unit to slide into the bracket as is shown on the product photo. |

| Answer: | Don't see why not assuming you have the tools to do so as the receiving tube appears to me as stock square steel tubing. Doing this of course would remove the protective coating and if you live as I do near the beach rusting will ensue as I am sure under the coating is not stainless steel so I would be prepared to attempt to anodize or some other rustproofing of the newly exposed metal. |

| Answer: | Yup. The board may stand proud, but will certainly suffice provided you have 2/3 of the surface supported by the bars. Both of my boards overhang by a few inches as they are 29" and 34" and their widest. |
