Answer:	The rule of thumb is 1.5 sizes smaller than your shoe size. However I did just that and these skates were way to small. Had to return them. I went to Dicks Sporting goods, tried on a few different sizes and ended up getting a size exactly to what I wear in shoes.

Answer:	I played a lot of hockey and these are hockey blades. There is no toe pick. The boot is softer than other hockey skates and I would not want to get hit with a stick or hard shot with these skates. The blades do not appear to be replaceable like you find on many hockey skates. I bought these to skate comfortably, not to play hockey. The velcro strap make it easier to tighten the skates, but you still need to pull the laces tight. So far, I am pleased with the skates.

Answer:	You’re usually safe to go a full size down in skates. I wear a 10 in normal street shoes and the 9 in these skates fits perfect. Just remember you HAVE to break in skates no matter what brand. Small discomforts at the beginning are fine, but if it lasts longer than a few weeks the size isn’t right.
