I have a tiny apartment and large (11-inch diameter) dinner plates and happily my cupboard door is able to swing open and closed with plates on the top shelf of the dish rack. Answer:	I would say go through the reviews, as someone with your foot size might've bought these skates. I'm a size 7 in shoe, but my skate size is a 5.5. If I would've went with the chart then I would've ended up with a skate way too big for me. A good rule of thumb is a size or two smaller than your actual foot size, you want your skates snug.

Answer:	For figure skates I've heard on average 20 hours but it all depends on the person. I've also been told when they are sharp they will feel like a steak knife & when dull they will feel like a butter knife, or when you feel your foot slipping from underneath you.

Answer:	You can tell if a blade is sharpened by scrapping the back your thumb nail on the edge, if it is scrapping some nail off it is sharpened. I honestly don't think these were sharpened. Most skates don't come sharpened when you get them.

Once you have the correct size of skates it is always best to check the following items below to ensure a proper fit:

- The skate's closure system should be secured snugly ensuring the heel is locked in. It also helps to give the heel a little tap on the floor to push it into the rear of the boot.

- When standing with knees bent or skating, the heel should be secure and have no to minimal lift. In the skating position the heel tends to settle back into the skate and demonstrate the true fit. A skate that is too loose can compromise ankle support.

- Toes should not be pressed against the front of the skate or cramped.

Answer:	Hello Heidi. Typically you would go down about 1/2 to 1 full size from your shoe size to get your skate size; however there are other factors to consider. For example if you have a very wide foot you sometimes have to go up in size to get the extra width you require. If your foot is a medium width & you have no fitting issues with shoes, you would likely be able to follow that rule. Also from our chart, if your longest foot measures 9 5/16" in length= size 6, 9 7/16" in length= 6.5. Since there are several factors to consider, it is not possible to tell you exactly what size you need.
