Answer:	I bought the backbone and it is VERY helpful for rough seas. If you are in flat water you don't need it but you do for any ocean kayaking.

Answer:	Took Rosebud out of Channel Islands Harbor around the breaker, Santa Cruz Island Prisoners Cove, and out of Ventura Harbor, California. Responds to wind, use that to your advantage - don't go out WITH the wind, go out against the wind and have an easy ride back instead of coasting out, get exhausted and have to fight your way back. ALWAYS use a paddle leash. I used 6' light but strong marine line with a bowline tied to paddle and to a ring that has the elastic. If you don't trust your knot tying, get a paddle leash with the hardware.
Question:	does it come with the backbone
Answer:	Honestly I did not measure while it was blown up. For fishing it is only good for two people. For KayakING fine for three. Seat do move . Found it good for the money.
Question:	How does it handle in open waters? I want to use it to go out in the harbor
Answer:	This is an inflatable kayak that is not meant to fend off crocodile bites. No kayak will stand up to a shark if he has his mind set on eating you...even a hard shell.

Answer:	I’d recommend you go to a vendor and try getting in and out . Many shops will let you take it out . It’s not your weight, it the ratio of leg to torso that might be a problem given the cockpit opening. My brother in law is 6-7 and it’s a no go.

Question:	Will this sail work on a canoe
Answer:	Not well. It fits but then you cant inflate the sides enough. There was a question on here earlier and it said it DID fit with less air pressure. So I bought it for my 1009. It Does give it alot more floor strength and lifts is out of the water higher but would be better if it wasn't as long by about 10 inches or about 5 inches in width.

Answer:	I purchased the rigid floor at the suggestion of a friend who did. We both take dogs kayaking. The harder flooring gives more stability, and better tracking. Have not taken mine on the open ocean, but on a big lake with a stiff headwind it did great!

Answer:	Technically the specification states the maximum load as 250 lbs. However, my wife and I exceed that by at least 100 lbs and there didn't seem to be any issues. If you search You Tube for "Travels with Yoly" and then find a video called "Blackwater River - Part 2 - Kayak Trip" you can see it in action.

Answer:	Yes, the seats are completely adjustable and removable. This is a very sturdy little boat as well. We have two and myself, my 12 year old daughter and our Border Collie all ride in one boat together.

Answer:	I own both kayaks and I would rather go with the explore to kayak, the reason is the Explorer - is self bailing has better seats that raise you out of the water in the bottom of the boat has an upturned nose to keep water from splashing you paddles are better quality. I have taken the explorer down a class 3 river the cabarrton river in Idaho with no problems. Take the skeg off if you do rivers, will just cause you problems if you dont, mainly you will loose it. Only use tue skeg in lakes or ponds.
