12 best bearing lubes
Bearing lubes in the context of skateboarding refer to lubricants used to maintain and improve the performance of skateboard bearings. Properly lubricated bearings ensure smooth and efficient movement of skateboard wheels. Here's an overview of bearing lubes in skateboarding:
Purpose: Bearing lubes are used to reduce friction and wear within the bearings, allowing the wheels to spin more freely and smoothly. This improves the overall performance of the skateboard.
Types of Lubricants:
- Oil-Based Lubricants: These are lightweight and provide low friction, ideal for high-speed applications. They come in various viscosities, allowing skaters to choose based on their preferences and skating conditions.
- Grease-Based Lubricants: Grease is thicker and provides better staying power, making it suitable for longer-lasting lubrication. It's a good choice for skaters who may not want to reapply lubricant as frequently.
Application: Applying bearing lube involves cleaning the bearings thoroughly first. The bearings are typically removed from the skateboard wheels, cleaned using a degreaser, dried, and then lubricated. A few drops of lube are applied to each bearing and distributed evenly.
Frequency of Application: The frequency of applying bearing lube depends on the skater's preferences, the type of lube used, and the skating conditions. Some skaters prefer to lube their bearings after every cleaning, while others may do it less frequently.
Effects on Performance: Properly lubricated bearings can significantly improve the performance of the skateboard. They reduce resistance, allow for faster speeds, smoother rides, and increase the lifespan of the bearings.
Choosing the Right Lube: Skaters choose bearing lubes based on their preferences and the type of skating they do.For speed and precision, a lightweight oil-based lube might be preferred. For longevity and durability, a thicker grease-based lube may be a better choice.
Maintenance: Regular maintenance, including cleaning and lubricating bearings, is essential for optimal skateboard performance. It prolongs the life of the bearings and contributes to a smoother ride.
In summary, bearing lubes in skateboarding are specialized lubricants used to reduce friction, enhance performance, and prolong the life of skateboard bearings. Choosing the appropriate type of lube and maintaining a regular lubrication schedule are important for a skateboarder's overall skating experience.

Answer: | I am sure it will. I am happy with mine. I use it probably differently than you are. I use it when I paint my stones. So I don't have to touch them when I paint. |
Question: | Has anyone used it to lube knives |
Answer: | Yes, it spins, just like a lazy susan. |
Question: | Will the oil freeze in -45° weather |
Answer: | No, it is ready to use out of the box. You don't have to anchor it down either. The rubberized bottom grips the surface to keep it in place. Hope this was helpful. |
Question: | Is this bottle easily refillable |
Answer: | 8 inches is the usable space inside my 9 inch turntable. |

Question: | I have a bunch of this stuff lying around and used it on my pocket knives (just the blades). Is that ok |
Answer: | The template is for install of post. Shelves attach to post. |
Question: | Is it .5 or 1 oz |
Answer: | Thanks for your interest in our products. Pie cut has a triangle type opening and the unit attaches to the doors to the cabinet. Kidney has a rounded opening and does not attach to the doors of the cabinet. See links... https://images.salsify.com/image/upload/s--el-Yij9w--/c_limit,cs_srgb,h_1500,w_1500/tp8uwdlnhvgfsunvpvvf.jpg https://images.salsify.com/image/upload/s--raXPy8JB--/c_limit,cs_srgb,h_1500,w_1500/luixcycs3pg4li1bse61.jpg |
Question: | Could I use this on my rc truck bearings |
Answer: | Actually if the height of your door opening is at least 32" then you should be able to install it. It will be tricky to get in their and get it together but I think you could do it. I am a home builder....I know I am a woman but I have been a cabinet maker for over 30 yrs and a home builder for 20. I think you could do it without removing the countertop. You would have to put both shelves in first and then you could push the pole into the opening and set the shelves on the bottom and put the pole through it while it is in the cabinet and then lift each shelf into position and set your set screw. You would have to put your upper and lower brackets in first. It would be tricky but it could be done depending on the width of your cabinet opening.....because you are going to have to reach up in there with both hands. |
Question: | How often should I use this on my bearings if I only use my board once a week |
Answer: | Each level will hold approximately 22 so called regular cylinder shape spice bottles, but caution the Simpli-Magic Lazy Susan is cheaply made and will lean and wobble if the rack is fill to capacity. After putting our spices on it, we ended up returning ours the same day. |

User questions & answers
Question: | what is the purpose of this |
Answer: | If they're dirty, I'd clean them real well before adding any lube. But your specific situation, if they are brand new you shouldn't need any lube. I'd still get a bottle to pit in your backpack so you'll have it when you need it, as well as something to clean them with. A small can of brake cleaner or something similar works really good, it's always good to be able to do a quick repair at a skate spot. This cream can get you through that last trick if your bearings all of a sudden lose speed. |
Question: | Do you have to clean your bearings out first before using them? what if they are new bearings? i literally just got ceramic ones today |
Answer: | Hello, This product is designed for lubrication and removal of debris from bearings. It will help extend the life of the bearing, as well as the smoothness with which it spins. Thanks! |
Question: | what is recommended for fidget spinners for quietness and long spins |
Answer: | According to a hastily done google search. there are about 295 drops in a 1/2 fluid ounce. Figuring about 2 drops per bearing, 2 bearings per wheel, and 4 wheels per skateboard, you would have 36.875 complete applications per bottle. |
Question: | How many applications in one bottle |
Answer: | Just the transfer belt. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Would this work on a wheelchair used for taking a shower with |
Answer: | Yes. I use this on my whole house Filter, & on my under sink filter to lubricate the rubber O rings. Works well. Unlike Vaseline or similar petroleum based lubricants, it will not dissipate and does not appear to degrade over time. |
Question: | What's the max temperature? I will be using on a heat press (up to 400 degrees). Do I need their high temperature grease or will this product work |
Answer: | I posted the Danco Material Safety Data Sheet link here and Amazon dutifully deleted it. You can search on "Danco 88693 MSDS" and see the PDF.I didn't want to have to spell the ingredients:85-95% Dimethyl Polysiloxane5-15% Silicon DioxideSo the answer to your valid question is SiO2 or "sand" or "glass"! |
Question: | Is it good for a Prusa 3d Printer |
Answer: | Thank you for your interest in Danco products. Silicone grease has a higher silicone content, making it better for a long term lubricant, such as on an O-ring that will be sliding. Waterproof grease is good as an installation aid, for inserting parts that will be making a seal and not be moving again. |
Question: | What does it mean when it is of high viscosity? Is this like a oil or gel |
Answer: | I can't say for sure, but I would guess that although it is intended for use in water systems where it will not dissolve into the water while in use and it contains no chemicals that would get into the water, it should not be used as a lip balm, a skin cream, put in nose or ears, or eaten by children or whatever else they might try to do with it. There have been published reports of contact dermatitis to silicone: The Laryngoscope. Volume 115, Issue 10,pages 1760-1762, October 2005.Otolaryngol Head Neck Surg December 1995; vol. 113 no. 6 782-784.Ann Thorac Surg. 2009 Apr; 87(4):1275-7. Allergy to pacemaker silicone compounds: recognition and surgical management. Oprea ML, Schnöring H, Sachweh JS, Ott H, Biertz J, Vazquez-Jimenez JF.Source:Department of Pediatric Cardiac Surgery, RWTH Aachen University, Aachen, Germany.Abstract:Silicone is a widely used biomaterial. Contact allergy, particularly to silicone components of pacemaker coatings, is uncommon. We present a 12-year-old girl with a history of complex congenital heart disease and acquired complete heart block excluding transvenous lead placement. Contact allergy to silicone led to multiple surgical interventions until the etiology for recurrent pacemaker wound complications was discovered. The key to diagnosis was a specific manufacturer's patch test. Complete removal of the former pacing system and placement of custom-made silicone free pacemaker components and epicardial use of silicone free transvenous leads were essential for successful therapy. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Does it come with bearings |
Answer: | Hello, Yes! This cleaning kit is designed for standard 608/8mm bearings. Thanks! ~TGM |
Question: | Can you clean 8mm bearings with this item |
Answer: | Standard size bottle 1/2oz |
Question: | What size is the speed cream |
Answer: | Any generic all-purpose, citrus cleaning solution proves to be an inexpensive and very effective cleaner and degreaser. You can get a lot of it for cheap, and it is not too harsh on your skin if you plan on using it often, but of course since it removes oil it may make your hands feel dry after constant exposure. But remember, citrus cleaner does not dry as fast as other more harsher solvents. Just ensure you let the bearings dry COMPLETELY after cleaning before inserting them back into your wheels. Hand dry them with some paper towels, then let them air dry for a while if you have the time, but if you have one, use a can of compressed air to spin any left-over liquid out of the bearings. |
Question: | What solvent do you use in order to clean the bearings |
Answer: | That is exactly how I used it. |
