Answer:	They are extremely lightweight and breathable - comparable to my coolibar "aire" clothes. I do not overheat in these when we are unloading a truck even if it's over 80F. You could comfortably hike in the desert in these.

I ordered this for our hiking excursion for Table Rock trail in Greenville, SC. I am 5"3, around 150 lbs, short waisted and ordered in size large. They fit but are baggy in the legs, so they were good for all of the inclines, stairs and climbing that we did. It was about a 6 hour hike tround-trip and I was comfortable the whole time.

Answer:	I wore mine in Costa Rica hiking in the Rain Forest the temp was around 90 with some major humidity so it felt much hotter. The material on these is very thin and breathable and because of that I purchased 2 more pair to wear over the summer. I set up all our outdoor events and it gets to be 95-100 sometimes in July and I am not allowed to wear shorts with our dress code so I needed something lightweight. Personally, I would totally wear these hiking in Zion. I might not go with the black color but something lighter I think would work.

Answer:	I would say yes... I’m somewhere between 22 and 24 3x is really comfortable. They are great pants. I also have fairly long legs.
