12 best titanium road bikes
Titanium road bikes are highly regarded in the world of cycling for their unique combination of strength, lightweight properties, and durability. Here's what you need to know about titanium road bikes:
Material: Titanium is a metal known for its exceptional strength-to-weight ratio. It is lighter than steel but still incredibly strong, making it an ideal choice for road bike frames.
Durability: Titanium is highly resistant to corrosion, which means that titanium road bikes can withstand exposure to the elements without rusting. This longevity makes them a great investment for cyclists.
Comfort: Titanium has natural shock-absorbing properties, which can result in a more comfortable ride. It helps to dampen road vibrations, leading to a smoother cycling experience.
Stiffness: Titanium frames offer a good balance of stiffness and flexibility. They provide excellent power transfer, allowing cyclists to efficiently transfer their energy to the road while maintaining some flexibility for a comfortable ride.
Weight: Although not as lightweight as carbon fiber, titanium road bike frames are lighter than steel frames, contributing to a faster and more agile riding experience. They are particularly favored by riders who want a blend of lightweight and durability.
Aesthetic Appeal: Titanium frames have a unique appearance, often characterized by a brushed or matte finish, which many cyclists find visually appealing.
Price: Titanium road bikes tend to be more expensive than aluminum or steel frames due to the cost of the material and the expertise required to work with it. However, for serious cyclists, the investment is often seen as worthwhile.
Customization: Many manufacturers offer custom-built titanium road bikes, allowing riders to tailor the geometry and features of their bike to their specific preferences and needs.
Longevity: Titanium frames are known for their long lifespan. They can withstand years of use and continue to perform well, making them a sustainable choice for cyclists.
Maintenance: Titanium frames are relatively low maintenance compared to some other materials. They don't require painting or frequent cleaning to prevent corrosion.
Ride Quality: Titanium road bikes are praised for their smooth and comfortable ride quality, making them a popular choice for endurance cyclists and those who prioritize comfort on long rides.
In summary, titanium road bikes are sought after for their combination of durability, comfort, and performance. While they may come at a higher price point, many cyclists consider them a worthwhile investment for their long-term riding enjoyment and the unique properties of the titanium material.

User questions & answers
Question: | would this fit a Diamond back recoil 29 er |
Answer: | Just make sure you get the MTB rear QR. This is 135mm instead of 130 for road bike. |
Question: | Would this fit a fuji Nevada 1.3 2017 29er |
Answer: | It should fit a 29er since the hubs are the same width as most bikes, mountain or road. This is assuming you have quick release skewers on your wheels now. If your not really sure check with a mechanic at your LBS. BTW I've purchased 2 sets, one for each of 2 my lightest wheelsets for my road bikes. If you're trying to save weight on mt bike wheels you might want to consider lighter tires that are foldable. |
Question: | Which one would I need for a disc road bike ? Rear measures 135 front smaller |
Answer: | You should first measure the skewers already on your disc road bike and then decide from there. |
Question: | How do the handles feel when tightening them (they look thin and oddly shaped such that pressing a palm against them might be awkward or painful |
Answer: | No problem with tightening unless you have wimpy fingers. It's wider than it looks. The only drawback for me is it takes two hands to tighten where as the regular skewers only require me using only one hand. I filed off the wheel keepers on my dropouts so I don't need to back out my skewer nut. |

Answer: | Can i get new padding for inside helmets |
Question: | Please confirm if the matte black/while small helmet with the MIPS logo in the product image is equipped with MIPS technology? Thanks |
Answer: | I'm sorry, but this helmet is not w/ MIPS. I need to change the image to correctly portray the product as the other Savant helmets show. |
Question: | how can I know my size |
Answer: | Hi Horacio,The best way to find your size is to measure your head above your ears. Then follow the size chart on Giro's website, http://www.giro.com/us_en/savant.html. I hope this is helpful. |
Question: | how does sizing work |
Answer: | How does it work? how big is your head? I doubt you are a small or X-large without knowing it. I got a large, fits perfect on an average size adult male skull. You might move down to medium if you are build a little smaller or maybe for a female head. |

Question: | What size should I order if I am normally an |
Answer: | Im 8.5 in shoes and I ordered size 41 |
Question: | Mi talla regular es 7.5, que talla deberia pedir de estos zapatos |
Answer: | La tuve que des volver por la misma razón eran de mujeres y no me silvieron y la compre 9.5. |
Question: | Because when i ask, 7 i get silver / 38? and if i ask for 6 i get silver / 37. i don't understand |
Answer: | The listing doesn't have a good comparison between the US and metric sizes. It's not an either\or. The 36\37 is a metric size, based upon the length of the shoe. The 37 is 1 cm longer than the 36. Two things to keep in mind - 1. These shoes are considered to fit a bit small. 2. More to the point, cycling shoes are SUPPOSED to be a bit "small", at least in comparison to running shoes. Those are normally worn "roomy", or at least 1/2 size larger than a dress shoe. For cycling shoes use your dress shoe size. They should fit snug, but not with your toes jammed into the end. If there is extra room, your foot can move, which translates into both discomfort (or hot spots) as well as a loss of power transfer. Hope that helps. 3. And also, US sizes make no sense - metric is clear, and the US would be better without the ridiculous mens\women's size dichotomy. At least with the metric sizes, a 37 is a 37, mens or womens. :-) |
Question: | Size 36 M |
Answer: | check a size conversion chart for actual shoe size |

User questions & answers
Question: | I have 100mm front hubs and 135mm rear hubs. will these fit? or is this a set of two 135mm quick release skewers |
Answer: | They are a front and back set -- the rear is wider. Excellent spindles, by the way. |
Question: | Is the front skewer 135mm and the rear longer |
Answer: | Not sure of the exact measurement, but the rear skewer on a road bike is always longer because of the cassette clearance. If you have a 9-10-11 speed road bike, then this the skewer set you need. |
Question: | How long are each skewer |
Answer: | They are standard front and rear length with rear being wider. They will fit your bike unless you have a bizarre setup. Good, solid skewers. |
Question: | are these ok for mtb also?, measures are fine for my hubs |
Answer: | Bought them for my wife's mtb. Work perfectly. |

Spending considerable time sitting on a saddle teaches you the importance of comfort to performance. Aggressive pedaling positions can quickly lead to numbness and discomfort. Fortunately Oregon based titanium fanatic Sage is catching on to the virtues of shorter saddles for the road with the Sage Beccus Saddle. The stubby, ‘noseless’ design of the Beccus saddle, along with a center cut-out, keeps blood flowing under the tremendous pressure sustained efforts put on the perineal region. Like every bike Sage makes, the Beccus saddle utilizes titanium because, to quote the company’s founder David Rosen, “the metal has a life to it.” Titanium helps take the edge off of the harshest roads creating a more comfortable ride. Put together, the short length, center cut-out, and titanium rails combine to create a saddle that will reduce numbness under the biggest power outputs. Choosing a saddle can be difficult. Cheap ones can leave you desiring a more comfortable design or lighter weight. High-end, ultra-lightweight ones can leave your wallet feeling a lot lighter than your brand new saddle. Sage has managed to hit a sweet price point for a titanium rail saddle that tips the scales at only 250g. Here are the dimensions: Dimensions: Length: 245mm Width: 143mm or 155mm Height: 45mm at the center of the saddle
- COMFORTABLE: The Sage Beccus Saddle is designed to remove the “numbing” effect a rider can get with traditional long-nosed saddles.
- PAD DESIGN: The short/ stubby shape, and center cut-out, help to improve blood flow from areas that might have been impeded in the past even under the biggest power outputs.
- MATERIAL: Titanium helps take the edge off of the harshest roads by allowing the base of the saddle to dampen frame vibrations while still maintaining efficient power transfer through the frame.
- WEIGHT: Less material means less weight. The Sage saddle weighs in at 255g.
- STYLE: The logos are embossed for durability.
