Usually every few weeks I'll use a pair of needle-nose pliers to pull out any obvious thorns that are imbedded in the tread. At any given time there are usually a few dozen 2mm+ thorns within the tread.After about 1200 miles so far no flats. The Marathon Plus is the tire to get for flat protection, and in goathead country it seems to be mandatory. |

The guy who posted earlier I don't think he knew you were talking about a fat bike, as his is a MTB. |

| Answer: | I put them on pugsley so i could ride to work on the street amd the difference was huge compared to a larry front tire.I think I hit a big pothole and chipped a rim though I would go with those new black Floyds on a pugs. They just dont cover a large marge rim well.I never put them on any other bike but if you want to commute on your mountain bike and you have the cash I would for sure try them. After I put them on I did not notixe much differenxe between my pugs and my hybrid. But the pugs is so bad on pavement that a regular mountain bike might not be as big a difference.But you might also like them for some off road riding too since they are so big and squishy. Can make for a difderent trail ride as long as you dont need the traction. Just my 2 cents. I am not much of a bike rider. I just go 3 miles to work and occasionally on a rail to trail conversion. |
