I usually ride only elite or pro quality equipment, but this rather reasonably priced item works. Holds up well. I don't recall ever breaking one, but have had other saddles break (the shell where the rails anchor). |

Like all leather saddles, you will have to protect it from rain with a separate cover if you leave it outside in the rain or snow. I've never needed a cover for mine and I sweat a lot on long rides. It is top quality and extremely comfortable. My favorite saddle used to be my Brooks B.17 until I got older with a bony butt. This feels like a cushioned B.17. |

| Answer: | Before you read any further, go on line and learn how to find the dimension across your sit bones. If you don't know the dimension across your "sit bones", you will buy 10 different saddles before you find the "ONE", gel padding or not. I use this butterfly seat on my single bike and tandem. It is wonderful if you ride 20 miles or more. But, honestly, my daughter has a WTB Speed She with similar padding at a fraction of the cost of a butterfly. Again, she bought it knowing her "sit bone" size and it works for perfectly for her. And I do not know what kind of squishy material Terry uses, unless you specifically buy a "gel-liberator". |
