Normally sports mouth guards we make, like all the other mouth guard companies, are to protect your front teeth from getting knocked out but for powerlifting, you shouldn't have that kind of problem unless you drop a bar on your face. Having a lower mouthpiece will make it much easier for you to breath and speak with it in and because it won't cover your palate, it would be much more comfortable as well.
