User questions & answers
Question: | Does it come with a chin strap |
Answer: | Yes, it comes with an adjustable chin strap. |
Question: | How adjustable is the chin strap? I know my 3 yo's head circumference is within range but she is tiny & i'm wondering if the chin strap will fit |
Answer: | It is quite adjustable, I would say if the circumference is within range then the chin strap will be fine. |
Question: | Will this fit a 56cm head size |
Answer: | The Giro Tremor MIPS is a Universal Youth sized helmet 50-57cm. |
Question: | Adjustable? Strap? How does this stay on |
Answer: | Fully adjustable for the size range indicated in the description. The helmet has a rotating knob in the back to adjust around the head and the chin strap is fully adjustable. It fits just like a normal helmet. The chin strap is tucked away in the picture, which is why you can’t see it. FYI, Fits my 4 year old perfectly and will most likely last several years. I imagine this will fit until she is 8-10 at least. she used the Giro scamp when she was 3 since that is a better fit at that age. |

User questions & answers
Question: | How do you determine size? Child's age is not useful. Measurement chart is needed |
Answer: | I don’t think there is one. It’s cold where I live and we get kids gloves a lot. Use the age of your kid and adjust it. |
Question: | On some sites small size says 52-57 cm, which on is that? I want it to last for a couple of years |
Answer: | My child has worn from 6 months to 24. Still some room and it's relatively light |
Question: | does both xs and s version have mips? i see the prices differ by 20 usd so a bit worried that the xs version has no mips |
Answer: | Sold by Active Life Store, both the Giro Scamp XS and S have MIPS at $54.95 anything lower is non-MIPS. Check for the XS - ASIN B075FCL1D8 and S - ASIN B075FDFF69 to be sure. |
Question: | What's the real difference between the standard and mips versions? it says guards better against 'certain impacts', but what does that mean |
Answer: | MIPS was designed to mitigate concussions in certain type impacts. The inner MIPS layer moves in opposite direction with helmet. I think the technology was developed from NASCAR. |

User questions & answers
Question: | This question is directed to the seller. i received the wrong model helmet. if i order again can i be confident i will receive the correct product |
Answer: | It depends. Did the seller send it, or was it FBA (Fulfilled By Amazon)? The latter is sent by Amazon's bots from their warehouse, and unfortunately they do make errors far beyond normal levels. I would strongly suspect that lightning will not strike twice, but with bots there are no guarantees. |
Question: | Does it come with an adjustable strap as pictured |
Answer: | Yes |
Question: | What head circumference does size small fit please, also can you please confirm the picture is in fact the correct product listed |
Answer: | The correct picture for the Giro Dime is the bowl looking helmet, not the others with the brim. We will inform Amazon to correct the images. An X-Small is (47-51cm) and the Small is (51-55cm). |
Question: | would the xtra small fit my 18 month old |
Answer: | The helmet I purchased for my two year old is not the helmet pictured, the one I purchased was adjustable and fit fine |

Fitting a Helmet
Here are some guidelines to getting the best fit for a bike helmet.
- Eyes: The rim of the helmet should be up to 1 to 2 finger widths above the eyebrows
- Ears: The straps should form a V under just beneath the ear lobe
- Mouth: When the rider opens her mouth, the buckle should feel snug on the chin and the helmet should hug the head
About Giro
Working late nights in his garage, designer/bike racer Jim Gentes created the first lightweight adult cycling helmet in 1985. Friends at NASA helped tune the final helmet shape and vent placement, and the result was the Giro Prolight, a helmet that was better looking than traditional designs while offering a superior fit and still met the industry's toughest safety standards. Plus, it was half the weight of traditional helmets. Since then, Giro has advanced its helmets, many of which have set the standards for styling, function, and innovation for progressive, performance-oriented riders on dirt, pavement, and snow. Giro helmets are worn by millions of riders, cyclists, skiers, and snowboarders around the world. Young-bloods and old-timers; hard-cores, heshers, and hipsters; rookies, experts, and a few regular Joes too--in fact, pretty much anyone that appreciates superior fit and function, cutting edge styling, and the very best ideas you get in a helmet.
- Built-in visor and pinch-proof buckle
- Microshell with built-in bug net
- Mini Loc fit system
- 6 vents

Question: | Will this fit a 4 years old head |

User questions & answers
Question: | Do these gloves provide a good grip for monkey bars |
Answer: | Only to a point. If they get worn or are even a little wet they are not that great on the smooth monkey bars. My daughter used them on the monkey bars for some time and thought they were great. |
Question: | What size should I order for a 4 year old girl |
Answer: | I’m sure x-small for a 4 year old girl, I bought Large for a 12 year old boy. These gloves are super nice, great quality and perfect fit. |
Question: | What size must to wear a six years old girl |
Answer: | I would think the smallest possible size. An XX small? measure her hand per giros site. |
Question: | Sizing- there is a L then a boys L , is there a difference considering it says kids gloves |
Answer: | I ordered the Youth Medium for my 8 year-old grandson (he wears a size 10 in clothing) and they were just right -- snug but not too small. I went to the Giro website to get more information about the sizing before I ordered. The gloves are supposed fit nice and snug because otherwise they won't do what they are designed to do. |

User questions & answers
Question: | My daughter's hand is 14cm, you think "L" will work |
Answer: | These gloves were a disappointment. Sizing was a problem, finally returned for a different brand. |
Question: | Would these work to protect hands while doing gymnastics on asphalt for a parade |
Answer: | It depends. How skilled as a gymnast are you? The gymnasts I know don’t wear gloves. Aren’t you worried about fitting in? Also, does the parade even allow gloves? Additionally, will the gloves match your costume? What type of parade is it? What about protecting your head? Maybe you want to wear a helmet as well. Asphalt, as you know, is hard and very hot it it is sunny. So I suggest a full range of protection, including sunscreen, helmet, and gloves. |
Question: | Is there a size difference between Large and youth Large |
Answer: | I believe that these gloves are meant to be for youth . . . . so, Youth Large is the largest youth size. (This size fits my average-sized ten year old son perfectly.) |
Question: | i can't find the size chart for the gloves, what size for a 7 years old |
Answer: | I got a Medium for my 7 and 1/2 years old daughter but was tight and no room for growth. Got the Large and it fits better and has a little room for growth |

Question: | what is the size of this helmet |
Answer: | My son is 4.5 years old and it fits him. |
Question: | how sturdy is the outer layer? Will it hold up through drops to the floor and not crack like most helmets |
Answer: | My kids occasionally drop it on the floor and it’s held up but I do ask them not to toss their helmets on the ground because I don’t want them to compromise the integrity of the helmet. |
Question: | What measurements of heads does this helmet fit |
Answer: | As per the Giro website, the Hale MIPS Bike Helmet is a Universal Youth (UY) Fit. It fits most heads measuring 19.6-22.4" / 50-57cm. |
Question: | Would it fit my 9 months old |
