| Answer: | If you have a spinning hard drive, you might not want to but most devices now are solid state and I wouldn't worry about it! Laptops that have anything in the specs about 5400RPM or XXXXRPM drives might succumb to the magnets but tablets, kindles, cellphones and most laptops should be fine. If you buy them, just make sure the quick release sets before you head off. A fall would be much more catastrophic than the magnets. A quick pull up on the handle before I head off and I've never had a problem. |

| Answer: | I discovered the hard way that these attach out of the box to 12mm rack tubes. It supports up to 20mm for the rack stays (where the included magnet attaches). Personally I'm not trying to return or find a way to attach them to my 19-ish mm rack. :( |

Thule's Pack 'n Pedal Tour Rack is a different, and highly effective, approach to the problem of adding a rack to modern bicycles with disc brakes and suspension. Instead of eyelets, it uses ratcheting straps to securely wrap around seatstays and fork legs. This means that you don't need to worry about interference with brakes or the lack of mounting locations. Now, you're able to add carrying capacity to suspension mountain bikes, or just about any bike, for long-distance riding or commuting. The rack's compatible with Thule's patent-pending, vanishing hardware attachment system that's found on its panniers and bags. But, it's also able to be retrofitted in order to work with conventional panniers with Thule's Side Frames (available separately). The rack has been constructed from aluminum tubing in order to keep weight low, and it's modular with three different included brace lengths. So, you're able to fine-tune its application from seatstays to forks. And because the Pack 'n Pedal Sport Rack uses ratcheting straps, the patented attachment system will conform to oddly shaped carbon and alloy tubing. | Answer: | Nope. The max tire size you could use with this would be a 3.5. And you could only do that if you mounted it so high that it might interfere with your seatpost. At a standard mounting height, a 3.0 inch tire is as large as you could reasonably expect to get in this rack. |
