User questions & answers
Question: | What is the lowest inseam (seat to pedal |
Answer: | The lowest seat to pedal measurement is about 29" for the Schwinn IC3 |
Question: | Is there a way to switch the distance read out to miles instead if kilometers |
Answer: | Yes...there is...read the instructions...if i recall when you plug in the display hold down the up and down arrows... when display changes press up to go to miles. I could be wrong, but it's definitely in the instructions...just did it the other day. hope it helps. |
Question: | what is the highest inseam (seat to pedal |
Answer: | The highest measurement from the top of the seat to the pedal at it's lowest position is about 38". |
Question: | Rode it less than 45 mins and started to make clunking or popping noise when pedaling. Anybody had this happen |
Answer: | Our pedal stripped out of the crank after 3 uses as well. All while waiting 3 months to receive (understandable with Covid). My wife was in the middle of a work out and I heard a thud, rushing in to see what happened I see the pedal on the ground and my wife standing over top of it. She was lucky that she wasn’t seriously injured when the pedal threaded out. My wife then calls customer service and sits on hold for 3 hours. We did get connected to a man that was very nice and seemed to be helpful. He informed us he would get us a new part but then says it will be 3 months before we get the part and kindly offer a refund. Willing to give it another shot we told him to ship the parts and we would wait. We are now close to 3 months into waiting for the part and I receive an email stating the part is delayed for another month. I have very respectfully reached out on numerous occasions to now try to get a refund and there has been no response. Sorry, I don’t have another 3 hours to sit on hold waiting for someone to actually pick up. I will be returning this bike one way or another and taking my business elsewhere. I would not recommend this product to anyone and based on others reviews it doesn’t seem like an isolate issue. Do your self a favor, spend the extra money and get a Peloton. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Any opinions on upgrading fork & most components and doing actual mtbing on this? i have the parts to upgrade everything, would frame hold up |
Answer: | I think you could upgrade but I wouldn't recommend for any heavy MTB trails. Light dirt, a few rollers, and even some hills are fine. But, while I'm impressed with the frame, it's not overly rigid and I'd be concerned about it's ability to take a beating. My wife and I ride on the roads near our house and that includes some serious climbing....it's great fun. Love the bike. Think about upgrading the derailleurs if you're doing the fork. |
Question: | Is the front bottom bracket eccentric and does allow to adjust the chain tension |
Answer: | Yes, the bottom bracket on the front crank area is eccentric. Thank you. |
Question: | What's the thickest tires i can fit on this bike? Can 27.5x2.4 tires fit on this frame |
Answer: | The tires on this tandem are 26" x 2.125". If you'd like a wider tire, we recommend checking in with your local bike shop. Thanks |
Question: | what are the dimensions for this item |
Answer: | I just purchased this bike for my son and daughter in-law. The captains seat tube is about 20" and the stocker is about 15.5". The seat post are plenty long to accommodate tall riders. I'm 6' 2" and my wife is 5' 1". My son in 6' 1" and his wife is 5' 8". This bike fits us all just fine. I did add a riser to the stem for my son and I. That made for a more upright position. This is a new purchase so I cant tell you what it feel like on a long ride but it feels real good right now. The seats are comfy for what we want to do with this bike. I think its going to make a fine hybrid tandem. My wife and I have logged over 10,000 miles on a tandem and I think this is a great bike for the money. I hope this helps. |
- Designed with 26-inch wheels, this bike provides a comfortable ride for those 5'4" to 6'2" in height
- Single speed drivetrain is easy to use and maintain
- Linear-pull brakes deliver smooth and intuitive stopping, and both front and rear fenders help keep clothing clean in damp weather
- Wide upright handlebars provide a stable, balanced ride, and the adjustable, padded cruiser saddle absorbs bumps
- Super low, stand-over, step-through aluminum frame allows easy step-through access
- Includes limited lifetime warranty for as long as you own the bike
User questions & answers
Question: | can i put an additional basket on the front |
Answer: | The original Question-Asker no longer needs an answer; but other readers may. Adding a basket on the front is not a problem. Bear in mind, however, that this trike steers by turning the handle bar, not by leaning, as with a bicycle. A heavy load in the front basket could make steering awkward. |
Question: | A reviewer indicated the brake was faulty, unless I misunderstood. Has anyone else had brake issues? I am a 4' 10" senior and need stability |
Answer: | Ive owned 5 of these and never had a brake problem. You need the 24 inch version rather than the 26 inch. |
Question: | What is the rider weight limit on the 26" Meridian Cruiser Tricycle |
Answer: | weight 280lb |
Question: | What is the advantage or disadvantage to a 24" VS |
Answer: | I had also wondered about this and was told that because I have low back pain it would be better to get the 24" because the handles were higher and there would be less 'reaching' bending over that I would have to do with the 26" - And I am almost 5'6" - But I've not bought one yet because I would prefer to 'check' one out first.hope this helps someone. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Is it a good if for a 5'6" woman |
Answer: | Yes, it is. The seat is adjustable. I am short (5'0) and have the seat at is lowest and with that I can only stand on my tippi toes (LOL) |
Question: | what size wheel |
Answer: | will a 24B such High Timber AL Red fit a boy 5'8" tap |
Question: | One of the reviewers mentioned that the frame is not aluminum but in fact steel. Is this correct |
Answer: | The information from the manufacturer said steel frame for The S5486A Men's High Timber mountain bike (Matte Black) |
Question: | I am 5' 9" would this bike be a perfect fit for me |
Answer: | The S5486A Men's High Timber mountain bike (Matte Black) has 29" wheels . The manufacturer said 18" frame. They field test those bicycles for up to 250 pounds. Whether this bike would fit /work for you or not is somewhat of a matter of opinion and personal choice. For the casual bike riders, most individuals use the size (diameter) of the wheels: 20", 24", 26"...etc to make the selection of the bike they wish to purchase. Bikes measured this way have frames designed relative to the tire size, so the larger the tire, the larger the frame. Some bike manufacturers may use a simple overall bike measurement such as x-small, small, medium, large, x-large; the bike size is usually on a sticker somewhere on the frame on other brands. (Only the custom bikes from this manufacturer are sized xs, small, med, large or xl , and these are not custom bikes)The manufacturer may label the bikes Boy's, Men's, Girl's, Women/Ladies however, they are not only meant for younger or older individuals. The rider will need to go by their height/inseam size. Keep in mind that for the 700c series road and hybrid bikes, the rim is larger in diameter so it will bring this frame higher up. These type of bikes (700c wheeled and hybrid) may be better suited for an individual 5' 7" and taller. Someone of a small stature may have a difficult time riding the bike comfortably. Each user may have a different personal preference though. ( note, this is not a hybrid or 700c wheeled bike. The above info is just for general reference) Riding a bicycle that is not correctly sized to the rider may result in the rider's feet not being able to touch the ground and balance the bicycle, properly reach the handlebar for steering or braking, and loss of control when pedaling. This sizing below is just a general guideline for some Schwinn and Mongoose bikes. It is always best to be professionally measured to find the best fit/size if unsure.Bike Wheel Size - Your Approx. Height12 inch wheel: 28 - 38 inches tall16 inch wheel: 38 - 48 inches tall18 inch wheel: 42 - 52 inches tall20 inch wheel: 48 - 60 inches tall24 inch wheel: 56 - 66 inches tall26 inch wheel: 67 - 74 inches tall27.5 inch wheel: 67 - 74 inches tall29 inch wheel: 67 - 74 inches tall700c wheel: 67 - 74 inches tall(The height/wheel size info was found in a Schwinn and Mongoose bike manual. Answer: | The stand over height on this bike is about 17.5". Thank you. |
Question: | On the balance bike, I am wondering about the seat height from the ground to the shortest seat position |
Answer: | Not Sure of the exact weight but its around 15-18 lbs |
Question: | Where can you buy an extra tire and wheel frame |
Answer: | Yes, the 20" Elm comes with a kickstand. Thanks! |

Schwinn SmartStart bikes are made to fit your child's proportions
What is Schwinn SmartStart? It is a complete redesign of bike geometry to better match a child's body type to create a more comfortable, ideal riding position. This includes a lighter bike frame for added control, smaller grip diameters to match smaller hands, and a more narrow pedal position to match children's smaller hips. Other kids bikes are just shrunken down versions of adult bikes.
On a SmartStart bike, there will be less wobble while the child pedals so they will feel more confident and comfortable while going through the learning process. Plus, the seat angle was changed so as the seat is raised the reach distance to the handlebar also increases; meaning that the bike will fit your child longer.
Schwinn Koen with 12-Inch Wheels
Fits children 2 – 4 years old, or 28 – 38 inches tall. Adjustable saddle and a slack seat-tube angle allow the bike to grow with your child and comes with training wheels.
Schwinn Koen with 18-Inch Wheels
Fits children 5 - 7 years old, or 42 - 52 inches tall. Adjustable saddle and a slack seat-tube angle allow the bike to grow with your child.
Schwinn Koen with 20-Inch Wheels
Fits children 6 years old and up, or 48 - 60 inches tall. Adjustable saddle and a slack seat-tube angle allow the bike to grow with your child.

Schwinn Elm with 12-Inch Wheels
Fits children 2 – 4 years old, or 28 – 38 inches tall. Adjustable saddle and a slack seat-tube angle allow the bike to grow with your child. Choose a balance bike for the rider just starting to get their balance or the 12-Inch with training wheels.
Schwinn Elm with 16-Inch Wheels
Fits children 3 – 5 years old, or 38 - 48 inches tall. Adjustable saddle and a slack seat-tube angle allow the bike to grow with your child.
Schwinn Elm with 20-Inch Wheels
Fits children 6 years old and up, or 48 - 60 inches tall. Adjustable saddle and a slack seat-tube angle allow the bike to grow with your child.

Other information came from messages from the manufacturer) |

Answer: | They come with the bike. |
Question: | Is the front tire quick release |
Answer: | The In The Barrel model and the EVRYjourney 7 speeds both have the same Shimano gear and shifter system. The EVRYjourney works best for people 5'to 6' tall, and the in The Barrel would suit someone 5' to 6'2" tall. Both are very comfortable to ride. if your height falls within the recommended ranges, it really depends on your aesthetic preference. My opinion, the ERVY 7 speed is the best all around bicycle we manufacture. |

Question: | What are the tires made of |
Answer: | They're rubber tires with an innertube, like a bicycle. I bought my trike in 2008 for my daughter and my third child is now riding it. The tires are still good, and I bought my first replacement innertube for it about a week ago. |
Question: | does it have a push bar for parents |
Answer: | no push bar. But the inflated tires and adjustable seat make it a bit easier for the child to learn to pedal for him(her)self. My two year old grandson loved his and was able to pedal by himself fairly quickly. |
Question: | My grandson lives on a dirt road. Does this work well on gravel roads |
Answer: | I used to live on a gravel road, so I understand. It should work ok, but not great. I don't think you'll find anything out there that will work better though. It definitely will be better than one of the tricycles with plastic tires! |
Question: | Hi there could you please tell me what age group this tricycle is suitable for and goes up to please |
Answer: | I have purchased three of these bikes for my grandchildren. The youngest who is 2 can reach the pedals when the seat is in the forward most position but hasn't quite mastered pedaling. He uses his feet to push himself along and occasionally practices trying to pedal. The oldest of the grands that has this bike is 5 and fits perfect with the seat set the furthest back and she rides it around like a speed demon with plenty of room to extend her legs far enough to pedal. This is a great bike and totally worth every penny I spent on them. The seat position is very easy to adjust so I purchased the third one to keep at my house, grandmas, for when the grands are here on the weekends. On a scale of 1-5 I would definitely give this bike a 5 plus. |
