Answer:	The alternator should charge the original vehicle battery, then this unit is connected to get power from the original battery and used to charge a second, back-up battery. The backup battery may have another identical 12v battery connected to it in parallel. Answer:	The seat cover stretches pretty good. I don't know the measurements of my cycling seat but the seat cover measurements are approx 11 in L x 8in W x 3 in. I think that it will work for you, as the seat cover has a lot of stretch to it. The first time I put it on the cycle it was pretty snug, but I just stretched and tightened it with the cord. It was fine.

Answer:	It's way more than 10.2", I can assure you of that. Unfortunately, I have it installed in my 1972 Grand Prix so I can't get a direct measurement, but I'll bet my boots the "4" is the gauge and the "30" is the length in inches in the "4SD30X" part number.

Answer:	I don't know the exact weight, but it is not very heavy. If you are counting ounces you probably don't want to carry it, if you don't count the ounces, you probably won't mind carrying it. I don't carry it because I don't see a need to check my tire pressure during a ride.
Question:	does the gauge stay at the reading until you clear it or does it clear once you take it off the tire
Answer:	When new it remained at the reading until the button was pressed to release the pressure. After a few months it stopped holding the pressure reading. Mine might have a piece of debris in the gauge that is preventing it from holding the reading.

Answer:	Assuming your car has a Schrader valve, it won't work. I use this gauge for bicycle tires with a presta valve
