Answer:	I am 6'1" and have them set at 50". You need to set them so your forearms are at 90 degrees on level ground. Just have him hold his forearms are at 90 degrees from elbow, and measure from floor to hands. I think the max for these poles are 55", but you can confirm that in the listing. Question:	Anyone had a problem with the locking mechanism coming loose so the pole collapses while walking? I have different brand with that problem
Answer:	Yes. I'm not sure what these others are talking about but the Revis no locking mechanism on the sections of these poles. They just loosely slide together, and are in constant danger of sliding apart again in use.
