Answer:	My old and new model are both dimable, but I think it's the firestarter in the lid. It would be good if the instruction showed how to use it though.

Answer:	There is no standard but there should be. Lumens are a confusing thing to advertise for several reason. Especially because this is a 360 degree light and not a focused beam. Plus, lumens increase exponentially as you get closer. Some manufacturers advertise 1500lux but they dont tell you thats from 1 inch away. At 6 inches, that same light would be 50lux. Even a car highbeam is 60lux if you back up far enough. There's no standard way to measure it so all claims are kind of a racket. Our responsibility as consumers is to buy these things PRIME and return them after trying them. The market will eventually get sick of covering that expense and a standard lux measurement will be instated (for example: 2 light sensors, 1 foot apart from each other, 4 feet from the light. That would be useful info). SHORT VERSION: Lumens mean nothing in this context.

Question:	Where is it made? I see the dumb answer (made between New York and London) below but really, where is it made
Answer:	It costs only $13 so it's made in China, if it was made in New York it would cost $130, if London $230 :)
Question:	Where is the on/off switch for this lantern
Answer:	Just disassembled mine to make the lens "frosty" instead of clear (keep from burning my retinas!). There's a microswitch on top of the battery compartment. A long spring connected to the LED array presses against the switch to turn it off--extending obviously releases the switch. The battery compartment cover can be installed in 4 positions (rotating 90 degrees between). If not in the correct one of the 4, the spring would never press the normally-closed switch (opening the circuit and turning off the light). If your doesn't turn off, I'd suspect wrong orientation of the cover plate or that the spring has fallen off. Either would be a pretty simple fix. Curiously, I also found the long center screw was installed upside down. The bottom end plastic is shaped to capture the nut. It made initially disassembly slightly more difficult (you'll need a 7mm socket or open-ended wrench).

Answer:	Hello, the ad is not actually showing a battery but the collapsed lantern. It does take AA, 3 of them. I didn't buy my original lantern on Amazon but I came to buy a replacement one and looked at the questions. Oh, mine is having to be replaced because it kept getting borrowed once people saw how great it is until it finally failed to be returned. I'm buying several more as gifts!

Answer:	Yes, you can avoid the strobe if you wish. To operate, you quickly depress the button in succession until you reach the setting you want. When you want to turn it off, depress the button a little longer and it will go off. If you don't want to see the strobe, don't depress the button 4 times in succession. In summary, you have discrete contol of the lighting mode.

Answer:	Hi at full brightness, the maximum battery life for this lantern is around 72 hours straight with a brand new set of 3D batteries. Answer:	A triple A battery will fit, but the light requires a 3.7 Volt battery,and the AAA batteries are only 1.2 Volts.

Answer:	No it will not use standard AAA batteries. The battery charges inside the flashlight under the lens end of the light, just gently pull the lens barrel and see the charging port under a micro USB.

Answer:	I'm a professional mechanic and for what I do, the Streamlight brand is awesome. They are bright, the batteries last forever not to mention, I have dropped my lights in every kind of muck you could think of in a shop and they still work. I have dropped it, run over it and it still works...has for years. Highly recommend them.

Answer:	I'm assuming you mean intrinsically safe in the official NFPA-type definition, vs the other people who assumed you just meant safe in general. The official answer would have to come from the company, but given that the electronics are solid state (no arcing/sparking) and the waterproof sealing, I wouldn't be uncomfortable using this in a Class 1 Div 2 environment. I'm not sure I would use in C1D1 without direct information from the manufacturer.
