Iconic Design
In 1891 Karl Elsener, the owner of Victorinox, was under contract by the Swiss Army to produce a folding pocket knife to be suitable for use by soldiers for opening canned food and disassembling the Swiss service rifle. Elsener invented a special spring mechanism allowing him to attach the tools on both sides of the handle, using the same spring to hold the tools in place. This innovative design meant Elsener could put twice as many features on the knife, which included a blade, a second smaller cutting blade, reamer, can-opener, screwdriver, corkscrew, and wood fiber grips. The Swiss Army Knife is the most recognizable icon of utility and smart design, and the knives are still made exclusively in only two factories in Switzerland.

Answer: | I've have never needed to sharpen mine, but they say they can be, even the serrated ones. If so, any knife sharpener should do. |
Question: | Does this little set come with sheaths? I looks like they are in plastic sheaths |
Answer: | No, these knives do not come with sheaths. They used to come with disposable plastic blade guards for shipping. You can see the pull-tabs at the base of the blade on the spine side. :-) |

A TRUSTED FAVORITE
Preferred by both home chefs and culinary professionals, the 4-Piece Victorinox Fibrox Chef's Knife Set can handle nearly every kitchen task imaginable. Crafted with comfortable handles, superior weight and balance, and razor sharp edges that rarely require re-sharpening, these knives are essential tools for every kitchen.
KEY FEATURES
- High-quality, lightweight European steel.
- Handle design reduces hand and wrist fatigue.
- Fit for dicing, mincing, chopping, slicing, and shredding.
- Long, sloping curved blade that “rocks” for effortless mincing and chopping.
- Flat spine for extra power to slice through hard-skinned items.
- Textured handle for a secure and comfortable grip no matter the hand size.
- National Sanitary Foundation (NSF) approved and dishwasher safe.
CARE AND USE
Be good to your knives and they’ll be good to you. Following these simple guidelines will ensure that you get the longest life out of your knife!
CLEANING
Victorinox Swiss Army recommends washing all knives by hand. For best results, hand wash your knives with a soapy cloth and dry immediately.
While Fibrox knives are dishwasher safe, we recommend hand washing as dishwashers are designed to spray water at a relatively high pressure, which can jostle the silverware and cause the knives to collide, dulling the edge.
SHARPENING
For optimum performance, knives should be honed after every couple of uses. Proper and frequent use of a honing steel will keep your knives sharper and performing at their best.
FORMERLY FORSCHNER
In 1937 Victorinox began selling cutlery in America through a Connecticut distributor called R.H. Forschner & Co. A well-known manufacturer of butcher scales, Forschner soon became the exclusive U.S. distributor for Victorinox knives, and was the name by which Victorinox knives were known.
- FOR HOME CHEFS & PROFESSIONALS. This 4-piece Fibrox Pro Chef's Set contains a chef’s, bread, utility, and paring knife. Each is crafted with high carbon stainless steel, conical ground, and ice tempered to ensure long-lasting sharpness.
- ONE FOR EACH TASK. Designed with a bolsterless edge that allows for easier sharpening and entire blade use for chopping, mincing, slicing, and dicing. So whether you're slicing bread or mincing shallots, these knives have you covered.
- EASY HANDLING. Each knife features an ergonomic Fibrox Pro handle that's textured for a non-slip grip -- even when wet. These exceptional knives are weighted and balanced for easy handling.
- KNIFE DIMENSIONS. Stainless steel blades; This set includes a 8" chef knife, 10.25" bread knife, 6" utility knife, 4" paring knife. Meets the strict National Sanitation Foundation (NSF) standards for public health protection.
- TRUSTED SWISS QUALITY. Expertly crafted in Switzerland in 1884, Victorinox provides a lifetime guarantee against defects in material and workmanship. Making a lifetime commitment has never been so easy.
User questions & answers
Question: | I just received this knife set. Only the bread knife has "Fibrox" written on the handle. Did I receive the wrong items |
Answer: | No, I own bunch of Fibrox Victorinox knives, and they do not all say it on the handle. I think it has to do with when the handles were actually formed. They are made in a form and they may change the handle shape or wording |
Question: | Two of the knives in this set do not say 'Fibrox' on the handles, while the other two do. Are they still the right items or should I return them |
Answer: | Even though it doesn't say "Fibrox" for them, the picture shows the handles the same. The non-Fibrox handles (Redwood) that they make are much more expensive and must be hand washed. Recommend keeping them if you like the knives. They are good ones and the Fibrox handles hold up well and are comfortable to use. |
Question: | Where are these knives made? Description says blades are "hand finished" in Switzerland ... not that the knives themselves are actually made there |
Answer: | The literature says they are made in Switzerland, though it's possible the raw plastic for the handles comes from elsewhere. Doesn't matter anyway, you'll love these knives. |
Question: | dishwasher safe |
Answer: | I use a dishwasher all the time. Steel tempering happens at ~400 - 600 degrees - my dishwasher only achieves those temperatures on the "melt my dinnerware" cycle. Knives become dull with time because of use. Learn to sharpen your knives or have them sharpened. Dishwasher has nothing to do with it. |

About us
In 1884, Karl Elsener opened his cutler’s workshop in Ibach-Schwyz. At this time Switzerland was still one of the poorer countries in Europe. In the early years Karl Elsener worked to combat poverty and unemployment in the Schwyz basin, creating jobs and helping stem the flow of emigration.
In 1891 he supplied the soldier’s knife to the Swiss Army for the first time. He went on to develop the Swiss Officer’s and Sports Knife – now the iconic Swiss Army Knife – in 1897, creating the foundation for a flourishing company that would be able to hold its own on the world stage.
From then on, his spirit of solidarity, deep roots in the region and strong commitment to solid values shaped the Victorinox company philosophy.
Today, Victorinox is a global company with five product categories: Swiss Army Knives, Household and Professional Knives, Watches, Travel Gear and Fragrances. The Swiss Army Knife is the core product and has a pioneering role in the development of all product categories.

CARE TIPS FOR YOUR SWISS ARMY KNIFE
The steel is tempered, annealed and polished to achieve the necessary hardness and provide optimum resistance to corrosion.
SHARPENING
To re-sharpen your knife, use a whetstone at an angle of 15°– 20°. This will result in a cutting angle of 30°– 40°. If sharpening on a grinding wheel, always cool with plenty of water to avoid excessive temperatures and the resulting damages that may occur.
CLEANING
If the blades of knife begin to stick together, open and close the blades in warm water several times - this will allow the tools to move easily again. Once dry, apply a drop of Swiss Army Knife Oil between each tool and its spring. Do not put Swiss Army Knives in the dishwasher.
HISTORY & HERITAGE

About Victorinox
In 1884, Swiss cutler Karl Elsener set up shop in Ibach-Schwyz, installing a waterwheel in Tobelbach Brook to run his grinding and polishing machines. Thus began what would become the international brand name Victorinox, a combination of Victoria, for Elsener's mother, and "inox," or stainless steel. Today, Victorinox produces watches, luggage, clothing, and, famously, Swiss Army Knives. The original product dates to 1897, when Elsener patented the Swiss Officer's and Sports Knife he supplied to the Swiss Army. Following World War II, American servicemen and women shopping in PX stores shortened the name to Swiss Army Knife, which lives on in English-speaking countries around the world and has become a metaphor for versatility.

User questions & answers
Question: | Would a 9 yr. boy be able to handle |
Answer: | The Victorinox Handyman is a six-layer tool. :-) SAKwiki is the best place to look for Swiss Army Knife info. |
Question: | Does anyone know the difference between the Camper and the Camper II |
Answer: | Yes, it was worth buying. I use mine all the time. |
Question: | Does this black color version have the word 'camping' written on it |
Answer: | I have no idea. The plastic sides came loose on my tinker after a few years of use and dropping. I used some epoxy glue to re-attache, and never had a problem again. I had my knife for 20 years until I recently lost it on the job at work. If that is the problem you just have to be careful when applying the epoxy so it doesn't close up the holes for the tweezers and tooth pick. I hope your problem is as easy to fix as mine was. I never had a mechanical issue with my knife other than a broken tip on the small blade. I just bought a replacement for the knife I lost, but it will never be the same since my two sons gave it to me for Christmas (with the help of their mom) when they were very young. |
Question: | Will the victorinox camper make it through tsa inspections in my carry on |
Answer: | Yes it has a bottle and can opener. |

Innovation is our Tradition
Innovation is our tradition and has been ever since we patented the first Swiss Army Knife in 1897. Here in the Swiss Knife Valley, we take lumps of molten steel and blend with generations of experience to forge knives which are loved all over the world. As we continue to find new ways to improve our knives we also strive to apply better solutions that meet new requirements and our customers unarticulated needs.

User questions & answers
Question: | Is this knife dishwasher safe |
Answer: | I never run any of my knifes through the dishwasher. This knife has a plastic handle and you could run it through one. Ask yourself a simple question - WHY? It isn't good for them. |
Question: | What is the blade made of |
Answer: | Victorinox states it is a martensitic stainless steel alloy made of 15 percent chromium, 0.60 percent silicon, 0.52 percent carbon, 0.50 percent molybdenum, and 0.45 percent manganese and is designated X55CrMo14 or DIN 1.4110. |
Question: | Does this come with any kind of case |
Answer: | No |
Question: | What is the best knife sharpening tool for this type of blade, i love the knife and would like for it be sharp when using it |
Answer: | Anthony, I know this is a very late answer to your question but I tried the Image Professional Kitchen Knife Sharpener System Fix-angle Version II with 4 stones, plus bought finer stones for it as well. If not this unit, something that mechanically keeps the angle of the blade and stone consistent (versus by hand) is best. There are a couple of others like this that keep the knife angle constant. I'd recommend those types. Ruixin Pro on Amazon also has a similar set-up. What's more is you can set the angle(s), mark with scratching a line on the adjustment shaft or simply leave set-up at preferred angle. Recommend a jeweler's glass if your eyes can't see the edge of the blade well like mine are to really get in there to see the angle is correct. I love this blade too, use it often on wild cattle hunts. Hope that helps. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Magnifier can make fire starter? thanks |
Answer: | It seems that only the Red/Black color comes with strait edge and OD comes with serrated edge. |
Question: | is there one with the plus scales..... with pen and pin |
Answer: | No idea. I live in upstate by and had no problem with shipping. |
Question: | I see 4.5 oz and 6.5 oz. both listed as the item weight. Could someone share the weight of the item itself? Many thanks |
Answer: | VSA RangerGrip come in either Red/Black or Green/Black grip. They do not come in pink. |
Question: | Can you tell me if this is the Swiss champ multi-tool knife and tell me how many individual tools this knife has as well as what each tool is? Thanks |
Answer: | The lock is a liner lock style (no button it’s an internal spring bar) and it would be physically impossible to press the lock while it’s closed as it springs into place when the is opened. There is no cool guy flicking open the blade with this knife however, the hole in the blade works very well as a one hand opening thumb assist. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Does it come in a swiss box |
Answer: | Made in Switzerland as all of these are. There is a lifetime warranty offered, although I have never claimed it. This is the most useful compact knife that anyone makes. |
Question: | Can I get my 5th grade kid one of these for her birthday |
Answer: | No, the Waiter does not have a can opener. It has a bottle cap opener and a corkscrew and a knife blade, and a toothpick and tweezers. The small form factor is comfortable for carrying in a pants pocket. |
Question: | Why is the black one made in Switzerland and the red one in China? Are these fake |
Answer: | Victorinox does not recommend their knives for children under the age of 13. It would really matter how mature your child is. |
Question: | Is this great on a keychain or is it too heavy |
Answer: | They are identical except for the scales (handles). The Camper II uses a matte finished called EcoLine made from recycled materials. It is a bit more abrasion resistant and less expensive to produce. The SAK symbol looks more like a silk screen on the scales on the Camper II whereas the symbol is imprinted into the scales of the original Camper. |

Answer: | This is not very heavy at all. I carry it on a keychain. |
Question: | Does it have a lock blade |
Answer: | Hello, we are working with Amazon to propose that via Amazon Custom. So not for the moment but very soon we will propose that. |
Question: | can anyone verify it's weight? listed description is a little bit confusing (1 oz/0.02 pounds/0.3 ounces). Randy |
Answer: | I bought one of these Waiter model in August 2015. Yes it has the small hole there for a straight pin, but it doesn't come with a pin in it. So I simply added one. I also added a mini screw driver to the corkscrew. |
