| Answer: | Depends on what you call full tang- Tang the full profile on the handle? No. Tang running all the way through the guard, handle and pommel/butt? Yes. Standard kabar construction of plenty of tang, with pommel compressed down over the handle material, then pinned through a hole in the side of the pommel. Strong enough for USMC since forever. There have been fails from misuse, but I find it plenty strong for woods/bushcraft type stuff. If you’re really concerned about strength, go for a BK7, which is full profile tang, but an ounce or two heavier. I have both. I’d pick bk7 for all around survival knife, and the modified tanto if self-defense was my priority, for bif I’m not concerned about walking around with a 12.75 inch long piece of steel). It’s a super cool knife, especially for the price. |

This obviously makes the knife much stronger but safer to use as well. Knives that are not full tang means its a piece of sharp metal attached to the handle and usually held in place by glue or a couple of screws which creates pressure on the metal, holding it in place. Barely....And only if you look at it. And even then it may fall apart while unwrapping it. Just do yourself a favor and buy FULL TANG if looking for a fixed blade. NOT A KA BAR and THIS Is A DISCRACE! You say this knife is licensed by the Marine Corps huh? Well NO IT IS NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So either this seller is lying or they were lie to when purchasing this merchandise! And it maybe the very best glued on knife that the world has ever seen...I don't know.
