He has a 32" inseam and these fit him fine, maybe a little bit extra but certainly not 4 more inches extra. I can only tell you what fits for a small. If you were wearing them with hiking boots that came up a little maybe. They are really great pants. My son wears them for boy scout winter camp, skiing, hiking etc.

Answer:	I have been wearing these exclusively the last few years (not a cop or a hunter, or anything...I just like the look and the abundance of pockets and the d-rings and such, and that they are so stain resistant) and I will say when they are new, the make a bit of noise, but they break in quickly (wear/wash them a couple times) and will be quiet.
