When hanging the straps on crossbeams we recommend smoothing out any sharp corners or edges that may cause undue friction. But nevertheless safety is always paramount, we would strongly recommend inspecting the strap before every use to make sure the straps integrity has not been compromised. Answer:	No. It should spin without doing anything to it.
Question:	Does the green on the strap match the green and khaki hammock color
Answer:	The straps cant physically be shortened, but you could use extra felt padding on the branch (or whatever your hanging from) to make one shorter. The strap feeds thru itself to go around the branch so if the branch is fatter the strap will be shorter overall.
Question:	I know that the combined weight rating for these is 400 lbs, but how much weight were they stress tested to handle
Answer:	I bought the 8 ft one. It is similar to seatbelt material with a closed loop at one end and metal hardware at the other. You attach to the tree or other support by laying the strap over the branch and feeding the hardware end all the way through the loop until it cinches snugly around the branch. The only way to shorten it is to wrap it around the tree branch multiple times until you get the desired length or tie a knot to use up some of the excess length. At least that is my take on it.

Answer:	The straps can be used on the post. Now whether or not that post will be safe to hold up the hammock is the question. Also, the sharp edges of the post may wear the straps quicker.

Answer:	To secure it you mean? Yes an old outdoor frame should be secure enough if you nail into a beam. But the swing itself should not be exposed outside element. As the cloth will damage more easily. I hope I answered your question. This swing was a great buy

Answer:	I didn’t use instructions if you are attaching it to wood use the screws if it’s concrete use the other things - I suggest hooking it through the top ring of material the attach the chain the screw your plate in separate and then attach the plate to the chain using the key chain looking attachment- I try to post some pictures too

Answer:	If the post is strong enough to handle the weight, and as long as you have something that will keep the strap from slipping down like a nail then yes you could use it that way.

Answer:	Load bearing products are designed with a factor of safety. A ladder for instance may be rated for 300lb but have a factor of safety of 3. The ladder can safely handle 300lbs but it is tested for durability at 900lb. These straps may have an FOS of 1.5 which would be 2100lbs. It's a good selling point showing "2000+" in the title.

Answer:	It's nylon so I guess it could stay outside all season. I use my hammock when camping so it's only hung for a day or so at a time.
Question:	How do you fasten one of the straps to a tree
Answer:	One end has a single loop, the other end has multiple loops. I wrap it around the tree at eye height and put the multiple loop end through the single loop. Then you have about 10 loops to choose from when you attach your hammock via carabiner.

Question:	If left out 24/7 will it produce mold spots
Answer:	I have only had this item for a few weeks. Where I live, Texas, the sun is more of a concern than dampness and mold. Judging by the material, I do think this item will get mold spots if left out and remains damp. I would not recommend leaving it out. That said, it only takes about 3 minutes to take it on or off the stand.

Question:	Can I throw these in the washer if dirty
Answer:	Yes, you can machine wash. Then either dry on low or hang dry them. Don't dry them on high because they are made of polyester and can get damaged in high heat.
Question:	I bought the 40 loop but the trees are fat enough that they are about 2 feet short. What can I do to extend them? Can I just buy another set
Answer:	I do that. Also my hammocks have ropes so I use the original ropes to extend on the big tree, and to make it even up.

Answer:	Any climbing rated carabiner would be plenty strong to hang a hammock on, and these straps have nice big loop that would work perfectly.

Answer:	It comes with 2 very strong sturdy straps. I love this product and own a set for each of my hammocks (5). I found them after a set of straps that came with a hammock started to break under half the load they were rated for! I've never had an issue with these and strongly recommend them.

MILITARY SPEC SEWING

Size E bonded nylon thread is the industry standard for parachutes. It's a very robust thread that has been specifically matched to the parachute fabric and webbing we use on our hammocks and tree straps.

All of our gear is also sewn using ball-point needles. These needles gently guide webbing fibers out of the way of the thread rather than tearing or piercing, keeping the as much of the material's original strength as is possible.

WHOOPIE SLINGS

Our whoopie sling system uses the same mechanical concept as a Chinese Finger Trap to provide a system that is easy and quick to adjust during setup, but instantly locks up when weight is applied.

Adjustment is as easy as pulling a string. To lengthen the tree strap, simply pull on the loop. To shorten the tree strap, simply pull on the knotted string.

TREE SAFE WEBBING

Thin straps or ropes can damage tree bark by applying too much pressure on a small area of the tree. Our Ultralight Tree Straps keep the load spread across a larger surface area, protecting all those wonderful trees we need to keep on hanging!

Using thin and light, yet incredibly strong 1-inch Dyneema webbing allows us to produce a very small packing and lightweight strap while maintaining the industry accepted safe tree strap width of 1 inch.
