The 2 burners put out 20,000 total BTUs of grilling power and are shielded from the wind by adjustable wind-blocking panels. Rest assured, your stove will perform consistently even in extreme conditions thanks to the pressure regulator.
About Coleman More than 100 years ago, a young man with an entrepreneurial spirit and a better idea began manufacturing lanterns in Wichita, Kansas. His name was W.C. Coleman, and the company he founded would change life in America. A man plagued with such poor vision he sometimes had to ask classmates to read aloud to him, Coleman saw a brilliant light in 1900 in a drugstore window that stopped him in his tracks. He inquired about the light inside and discovered he was able to read even the small print on a medicine bottle by the illumination. The lamps had mantles, not wicks, and were fueled by gasoline under pressure instead of coal oil. Soon afterward, Coleman started a lighting service that offered a "no light, no pay" clause--a big step forward for merchants who were burned by inferior products that rarely worked--and drew substantial interest from businesses that wanted to keep their lights on after dark. In the ensuing years, Coleman expanded its product line well beyond lanterns. The company's current catalog is thick with products that make spending time outdoors a pleasure. There are coolers that keep food and drinks cold for days on end, comfortable airbeds that won't deflate during the night, a complete line of LED lights that last for years, powerful portable grills that cook with an authentic open-grill flame, and much, much more. Coleman has truly fashioned much of our outdoor camping experience, and expects to do so for generations to come.

User questions & answers
Question: | What are the dimensions of cooking surface when stove is open for cooking grill |
Answer: | about 20'' x 10'' |
Question: | Which carry case fits this stove |
Answer: | Coleman Part# 2000004431. That case will fit the stove AND can hold Two propane bottles. It's a nice case, keeps your stove looking like new plus carrying the bottles. |
Question: | What type of connector do I need for this Coleman Stove? I see many types but do not know which one to buy |
Answer: | it comes with the connector. you don't need to worry about that as long as you buy the small, green, one-use propane canisters. |
Question: | Can an adapter and propane tank be used with this burner |
Answer: | I'm not 100% sure but I think it should, provided the adapter is for this kind of Coleman propane stove. Personally, I use a refill adapter to refill my One-LB propane bottles from the 20-LB BBQ propane tank. I like the ease of the 1-LB bottles. The 20-LB tanks are too bulky for camping trips. Cheerios. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Please, check the coating. I'd like to give it without enamel chips |
Answer: | The coating on this looks durable, but its not. After 4 camping trips, the rims of the cups and plates are all heavily chipped and rusted. I bought the blue set with silver rim at the same time and they are as new as the day I bought them. |
Question: | what country are they made in |
Answer: | I have no knowledge of where they are made, but having used them for two years now at scouting events and camps I can report that they have performed very well and only have on chip on one plate to this point. Certainly worth the price paid. |
Question: | How stackable are they to save space |
Answer: | Plates and bowls are stackable, but the cups are not...at all. |
Question: | are these microwave safe |
Answer: | I accidentally microwaved mine for 55 seconds. Nothing exploded, and it didn't seem to transfer anything to the food. But I won't be doing it again, just in case, because they are indeed metal. I think I got lucky because it was for a short time. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Is there accessory hangers on the grill? I don't see any like on previous versions |
Answer: | They upgraded the burner but something as simple as utensil hangers, they took off. |
Question: | will the pan adapters that fit the LXE road trip grills fit this unit |
Answer: | I'm not absolutely sure. I made a mistake, thanks to Amazon's "Click-to Order" feature. I mistakenly ordered the "Road Trip 285" instead of the "LXE." I received them both , but returned the "Road Trip" model. However, when I had them here, they looked the same in size to me. except for some differences in the stand. a 3rd burner and the way the side shelves were integrated, they looked virtually the same. Hope this helps. |
Question: | How do you clean out grease |
Answer: | I put 16 ounces of water in the drip pan. After cooking, I dump the water and wipe the drip pan with paper towels. The BBQ is designed to prevent grease from dripping on burners. So far this design has worked for me. |
Question: | how much does it weigh in comparison to the other coleman portable grills |
Answer: | There really isn't much differance in weight to be concerned with. The main feature that made my decision is the aluminium folding transport-stand and the 3 burner 20,000 BTU grill. After using the grill I found the removalable grease pan made the grill exceptionable. Easy to remove the cast iron grill plates and grease pan for cleaning. Truly a great design with functionality. Staring the grill with three burners on it is ready to sear steaks, burgers and sausage in a few short minutes. Very happy with the operation, cleaning and transportability. I purchased the braid stainless steel hose to have the option to use a 20 lb propane cylinder. I tried both a propane bottle & 20 lb cylinder both work great. I use it at home and package it up to use with the travel trailer. I rate the Coleman Roadtrip 285 as a Five ++ Star Purchase. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Would this keep drinks cold on an outdoor patio |
Answer: | This unit will keep things about 20 degrees cooler than the outside temp at best. I freeze a couple of water bottles or a freezer pack and it will keep things cold much better. Takes about 10 hrs or more before the frozen bottles melt enough to drink with the outside temp at over 90 degrees. |
Question: | What mechanism generates the cool |
Answer: | 40 Quart PowerChill Hot/Cold Thermoelectric Cooler Take some cold drinks on your next road trip while leaving the ice at home with a Coleman 40 Quart PowerChill Thermoelectric Cooler. More than a cooler, but not quite a refrigerator, it cools up to 40 °F below the surrounding temperature without any ice. So if you use your cooler in an environment where the temperature is 70 °F, this cooler will maintain an internal temperature around 30 °F. You can use it like you would any other cooler except, instead of throwing ice inside, you simply plug in the 12V car power adapter. Then add your pre-chilled drinks and snacks. Your cooler will reach maximum coldness in about three hours (you can speed this up by adding Coleman ice substitutes) and stay cold as long as it's plugged in. Large enough to hold 44 cans, you'll have plenty of space for refreshments for the whole trip, and you can keep all your contents organized with the storage tray. |
Question: | Can it be powered with a battery |
Answer: | Sure....It is 12 volt, so it can be powered with the included cigarette lighter cord, or from any 12 volt battery with the appropriate cord for connection. |
Question: | How long can it stay plugged in before draining battery |
Answer: | That question depends totally on your battery supply. Mine runs off of 2 -12V batteries and I can leave it on for 12 hrs or more before I have to start the truck and make sure the batteries don't get past half used. |

User questions & answers
Question: | What model is the stove, Coleman Guide Series |
Answer: | Yes it is that series. Enjoy! |
Question: | can I use it indoor |
Answer: | We used one indoors that we bought new for $10.00 in 1974 at a store closing. Used it for a couple of years to cook and can on. It was in an old house that I am sure was well ventilated though. I would not recommend it in more airtight homes. If you do, have a CO detector and use Coleman Fuel and not the gas. |
Question: | what is the difference between this stove and and the coleman guide series powerhouse dual fuel |
Answer: | The Powerhouse dual fuel is bigger (in width, length and higth) so it can host big pots. The Powerhouse dual fuel has a main burner (the right burner) that is more powerful too. The left burner is the same in both stoves. The Powerhouse has a bigger tank to compensate for consumption of the bigger power. |
Question: | Is this made in China |
Answer: | No. USA |

WHERE WE STARTED
It all began when we created the first portable, gas-powered lantern that illuminated the first evening football game west of the Mississippi. User questions & answers
Question: | Can this be adapted to a hard gas line |
Answer: | No. |
Question: | What is the inside clearance, from the grill to the underside of the cover |
Answer: | That would be 4” |
Question: | where is the propane located |
Answer: | The regulator is in the back. You can either use a green propane tank or a hose |
Question: | Could this be used indoors? Or on a wood table |
Answer: | Yes it can be used indoors, but that is not recommended by Coleman (for liability reasons). This is no more (or less) dangerous than a natural gas stove top in the home. (And perhaps 30% of homes in the USA have a natural gas stove top rather than an electric coil or electric induction stove top). Natural gas and liquid propane gas are always odorized so you can smell unburned gas, or a gas leak. That would be the primary additional danger in terms of using it inside, installing and removing LP fuel bottles. When I do that, sometimes the seals are poor, and the valves sticky on the bottles, and you can hear gas hissing out of the bottle until you get it all the way cranked (screwed) down into the regulator. So, I would say you could use it inside, but I would change the fuel bottles outside, or on the balcony in an apartment, just realize the inherent risk of using gas inside (carbon dioxide). But again, you have this EXACT SAME risk if you have a home with a natural gas stove and oven that is not externally vented (about 1/3 of installation are not externally vented). |
