Cooler Shock vs. Regular Water

Ice starts out at freezer temperature and will warm fairly quickly to its melting point (32 degrees F). Once at melting point, the ice will stay at the same temperature during the whole process of melting. After fully melting, the liquid starts to warm normally again.

Answer:	I've not tried to heat something and use the bag. However, I have used it to keep breast milk from cooling. It seems to work well for that but that is less of a temperature change that trying to warm something and then keep it warm. The breast milk cools a little but is still warmer than room temperature at a couple of hours later.

Answer:	There is no XL to my knowledge. They sell 3x lg(meaning 3(times) large packs). Dont worry, i was trying to find the water volume for XL too!

Answer:	I just did a test: yes, but just barely in fresh water. I think there is a small amount of air in the frozen packs that keeps them buoyant.

Answer:	aI believe what they mean is that the latent heat point for the melting phase (transitioning from solid to liquid or liquid to solid without changing temperature) is 18 Degrees F, whereas pure water (note the pure) transitions at 32 Degrees F. This is a big deal because the energy difference between 18 and 32 means it will absorb a lot more heat for a relative temperature rise. 32 to 40 is only 8 degrees whereas 18 to 40 is 22 degrees, almost 3x the amount.

Answer:	Mine have stayed frozen for approximately 9-10 hrs. I left food in the cooler,which was well-insulated, and it which was still cold when I got home. This was kept in office setting with temps in room in the 70’s.

Answer:	It's a 40 liter bag. The duffel access is definitely a plus over a conventional top access waterproof bag. The other big advantage are the pockets built on the inside of the bag. Answer:	Hi Abby, yes they do sweat. I use boxes to contain my food so its not an issue.I use only 1 piece of the ice pack. Stays frozen/partially frozen for about 2 hours in my neoprene lunch bag. After that its cool for another 1 to 2 hours. Maybe a foil lined bag might work better.I use it to carry lunch and breakfast to my work place. Keeps it cool enough until lunch. My frozen cooked vegetables and meat sometimes still have little ice crystals in them at lunch. This is about 4.5 hours after I pack it straight from freezer. My frozen vegetables are packed in a 70ml container. The meat in 100ml container. Hope this helps. I stay in the tropics. Daily temperatures ranging from 28-31 degree celsius after the sun is up. My lunch is out for about 1.5 hours before I reach office.Hope this helps!

Question:	May I place a platter of appetizers on this outside table without cooler
Answer:	I used mine in a very insulated cooler and it kept things cold during our 6 hour road trip. I am guessing your truck gets hotter than my car did though. I will also caution you that this ice pack was way bigger than I thought it would be so I’m not even sure it would fit in an insulated lunch box, depending on size. Check the dimensions first. Sorry I can’t give a better answer, I honestly don’t know if it was my very well insulated cooler that helped keep it cold.

Answer:	You can, but I can almost guarantee that it will freeze the ice.

Answer:	Really depends on how often you will get into the cooler. Also, will there be ice in the cooler as well or just the blocks? Arctic recommends the same weight in blocks as you would use in ice. I live in Texas and use them in my Pelican 45 all the time. I would suggest at least 4 of the 5lb blocks, more if you fit them in, that's the equivalent of 2 bags of ice. Also, the combo of the blocks and ice works really well if ice is ok with what you're putting in the cooler, both the ice and the blocks seem to last longer with both in there. REALLY IMPORTANT: make sure you pre-chill the cooler. You can do this by putting a block or a bag of ice in the cooler about 30 min to an hour before you put your other items in. Make sure you take that block or the wet ice out and replace with fresh before filling the cooler and everything will last longer.

Answer:	I have filled it to the brim with 40 pounds of crushed ice. Of course that gives no room for anything else but I was transporting the ice to put half in my other Yeti.

Answer:	Yes it does. Looking at the picture of the bag, you see the normal straps that you would carry. The straps that are going across the side of the bag aren't sewn onto the bag and you can pull those up to make the normal straps shorter and make the side ones bigger for you to carry horizontally

Answer:	I have had one of these for quite a while and it may fit two 1 gallon jugs of milk in the bottom with some ice around it and then you can probably fit a few things on top of that. If you lay it flat you can put a large to in it to keep it hot on your way home. But that's about as big as the capacity is.
Question:	Can it keep food hot too ? Or at least warm
Answer:	Yes the zipper is an issue . Ours broke within 2 months of purchasing . I would not recommend this product !
