Answer:	The outside may get warm to the touch but not hot, the water does stay hot on the inside and this one does not have double walls. The CU-30 and the CU-50 would have the double walls. I hope this helps! Thank you
Question:	Would this work for Mulled Wine or does it get too hot
Answer:	This unit is a coffee urn so it does perk at 200+ degrees. Once the coffee is perked the unit will go into a keep warm mode. The keep warm temperature setting is approximately 185 degrees. If you decide to use this to make mulled wine I would suggest filling the unit with water and setting it to perk. While the unit is perking the water I would make and warm the mulled wine on the stove. Once the coffee urn has gone into the warm setting, I would drain the water out and put your warm mulled wine into the coffee urn to keep warm until serving time.

Question:	can I use this for hot chocolate
Answer:	We did! I put the milk in to the max line and then the chocolate mix; stirred it well and then turned it on. It was a little confusing turning it on and whether or not it was actually heating up. The light didn't stay on when I turned it on either which was part of the confusion. Also, we probably left it on too long and the milk scalded on the bottom so I would say just monitor it and don't leave it on longer than 2-3 hours. Hope that helps.

Answer:	Yes, you can! There are paper filters you can buy to use with a percolator. One is shape like a disk, the other kind is an envelope. We used a regular coffee filter last camping trip and cut it down to size. There were still some coffee grounds in our cups but hardly any.

Answer:	This is a percolator system, so there is no coffee filter. A removable stainless steel rod sends hot water from the lower part of the urn to the top, and then it "filters" through a stainless steel coffee basket which has a lid. The coffee/water rod would put a hole through a filter. The coffee basket lid, and using a coarse grind of coffee, helps to keep any grounds from landing in the water/coffee being brewed below.

Question:	Does anyone have a problem with the temperature? It is lukewarm at best
Answer:	I just used ours for the first time for hot chocolate and the milk got scalded at the bottom reservoir, which ruined the taste. It took quite a bit of scrubbing with steel wool to get it clean. Next time I'll just heat the water with it and offer packets of cocoa mix for my guests.
Question:	How many oz's water does it hold
Answer:	There are white deposits at the reservoir along with the hardened coffee deposits. I do use a non metallic scrubber to get it clean every three months because it is used daily. It stays pretty clean from there for a while. It's a great pot and have been using it without trouble for almost three years now. I also let it soak for a few hours in dishwasher detergent (Cascade) and give it a mild scrub also. Keeps it clean also. Good luck with a great pot.

Answer:	This is a classical example of Amazon's unreliable reviewing. The reviews are indiscriminately about two different products. One is 11.6 inches tall, the other is 13 inches tall. One (or both) is getting bad reviews for things like static discharge in the plastic grounds collector. I came here intending to buy a burr grinder and interested in buying a grinder/percolator. Question:	Where to get replacement carafe
Answer:	This will not work with a smart plug unfortunately. The power button on the coffee brewer is a spring loaded rocker type switch so you can't keep it in the on position. I seriously considered taping it down, but once the power is activated from the smart plug I think it'll confuse the machine since holding the power button down toggles the infusion setting on and off.

Answer:	If you mean water filter, no it does not. No coffee filter either, it came with a couple of #4 cone filter you can use.

Answer:	No it does not have auto shutoff. You cannot tell from the box or the manual (since the manual is generic and covers a large number of models). I called the manufacturer. They said if you cannot see a clock on the front of the coffee maker, then it won't have an auto shutoff. I sent it back since I know I will often forget to shut it off.

Answer:	Hello, thanks for reaching out! The machine will automatically go into Standby if it's not working for 15-20 minutes in order to save energy consumption. This is the reason why the green lights turn red. To use the machine again you can press the espresso or lungo button (the small cup or big cup buttons) and wait for the machine to warm up, you will see the lights flashing (25 seconds approx).
