User questions & answers
Question: | do the pots have hang ring |
Answer: | The only attachment point on the pots is where the handle clips on. |
Question: | Can the msr pocket rocket fit inside one of the insulated cups? for storage purposes |
Answer: | The insulated cup is to narrow, so it will not be able to fit the msr pocket rocket inside. |
Question: | So, i'm reading that the pocket rocket won't fit in the cups... will the microrocket fit |
Answer: | It should, I have a Pocket rocket and it almost fits in the cups so the micro should have no trouble. Be aware this set is great for 2 people but is a bit bulky. When I try to use it with the Pocket Rocket the small pot is fine but the large has to be held it will not stay on its own. Personally I did not like the plastic cups so I just took them out and it made plenty of room for a stove, utensils, and other commodities. |
Question: | Will the msr pocket rocket (with case) fit between the cups like it does with the trail lite duo |
Answer: | It fits between the cups but is too tall to allow the top plate and lid nest as they should. |

Question: | Can these be used in convection and/or on induction stove tops |
Answer: | Yes, I used both 1.0 and 2.5 litter pots with MSR stove with remote canster and they performed much better then commoonwith flat bottom ( tested in camp Muir (Ranier) ~ 3100m ).This type of stove has large enough wings to safely mount this canister on top.I'll suhggest to consider to use fiberglass cloth (amazon it :-)) or thick aluminum foil as a wind shield.good luck! |

User questions & answers
Question: | Will this work on the msr pocket rocket and be stable...the 775 ml |
Answer: | The 775 and 1.6 both are stable on the pocket rocket, no issues. Not so much on my alcohol stove. |
Question: | Is the 1.1 Liter pot stainless steel |
Answer: | Thanks! It was a little confusing because when I would click on the two smaller pots, the picture would show a stainless steel pot with a black label and of course the label says it is stainless steel. However, when I would click on either the 1.1 Liter or 1.6 Liter pots in the drop-down choice box then it would say "one color" and their was NO black label on the pot. So, I just wanted to make sure that the 1.1 Liter pots I was ordering (two of them) would also be stainless steel. |
Question: | I know that it is 775ml but what is the phisical size of it |
Answer: | MSR Alpine Stowaway Pot 775ml Dimensions:O.D.: 5.6"W (6.8"W incl folded/clasped handle) x 3"H (3.4"H incl top lid handle)Pot I.D.: 5.5"W x 2.45"D Lid I.D.: 5.35"W x 0.71"D (0.25" of the Lid Depth is the recessed portion that fits inside the pot)Measured with a caliper. I decided to add some more accurate dimensions incl O.D. and I.D. for those who, like myself, were interested not only how much space it would occupy in a pack but also what could be stored inside it. As it is the popular small stainless portable wood stove (sold here on Amazon under several different brand names like Ohuhu, DoCooler, SoLoMan, FAMI, uSmile, etc) which collapses down to 5.2"W x 2.75"H fits neatly inside this MSR Alpine Stowaway 775ml pot. |
Question: | will the MSR mountain bowl nest in the 1.1 liter pot |
Answer: | the msr alpine bowl will not only nest in there, it also works well to bake in! i baked great cornbread in the greased bowl which was inside the stowaway pot & placed in the firepit with lots of coals below, & a few on top. i had the pot upside down so coals would stay on top of it, on top of the bottom that is. i will add additional pics to my review showing this. |

Question: | Diameter of por |
Answer: | Hi, The Diameter of the pot is 5.7 inches. - The Therm-A-Rest Customer Service Team |
Question: | I just received this product, but the inside of the pot is not white, as it shows in the photos that others have posted. Did I receive an old product |
Answer: | 8/30/17. I just received my order today. The pot does not have the ceramic coating at all. It's just anodized like the outside. Here is the description from MSR's website "Includes: 2.0 L Hard-Anodized Aluminum Pot w/ Ceramic Nonstick Coating, Clear Strainer Lid, (2) Double-Wall Insulated Mugs, (2) DeepDish™ Bowl". The picture on the box shows the white coated interior. Either they've stop coating them to save some money or these are manufacturer defects. I purchased this over another brand specifically because of the advertised Ceramic coating. UPDATE 8/31/17. I called MSR and yes they do not coat the inside with ceramic anymore. It's not a non-stick coating either. They said the designers neglected to update the product description or the packaging to reflect the change. They dropped this coating when the started a new line of ceramic pots, but unfortunately they do not have a pot of the same dimensions if you want to swap it out with this kit. |
Question: | Is this wide enough to fit a canister and a msr pocket rocket or microrocket stove system? no sarcasm please. this is a legitimate question |
Answer: | Yes this will fit almost any stove and canister and then some. However, you have to remove and leave out the mugs. Which are ok but really low capacity. |
Question: | Reviewers are saying small and light, yet the description says 2 Liters. Does the pot actually hold 2 liters of water |
Answer: | Yes. Just shy of the rim. The specs printed on the bottom are all correct--Pot: 2 Liters/67.5 ozBowls: .7 Liters/24 ozCups: .37 Liters/12.5 oz |

User questions & answers
Question: | Does the plastic melt |
Answer: | It can be melted if tossed into a fire, or abandoned in a hot fry pan. I have used this in the field and in a pinch at home with absolutely no issue. I have used it to flip eggs which cook in low heat, I have also cooked bacon on higher heat and dropped potatoes into the bubbling hot bacon grease and stirred them without damage to the plastic spatula. I would not pick up red hot ingots, hot coals, or leave it in a hot pan. |
Question: | What is this spatula made of? Metal or plastic |
Answer: | Plastic |

It was a little confusing because when I would click on the two smaller pots, the picture would show a stainless steel pot with a black label and of course the label says it is stainless steel. However, when I would click on either the 1.1 Liter or 1.6 Liter pots in the drop-down choice box then it would say "one color" and their was NO black label on the pot. So, I just wanted to make sure that the 1.1 Liter pots I was ordering (two of them) would also be stainless steel. |
Question: | Can you tell me where this cookware set is made? I am looking for something made in the USA, not China. Anyone know of a camping cookset for backpacki |
Question: | Could this set of pots be used for open fire(campfire) cooking |
Answer: | the msr alpine bowl will not only nest in there, it also works well to bake in! i baked great cornbread in the greased bowl which was inside the stowaway pot & placed in the firepit with lots of coals below, & a few on top. i had the pot upside down so coals would stay on top of it, on top of the bottom that is. i will add additional pics to my review showing this. |
