Cook breakfast, lunch, and dinner on a dependable stove that packs up easily with the Coleman Classic Propane Gas Camping Stove. The 2 burners put out 20,000 total BTUs of grilling power and are shielded from the wind by adjustable wind-blocking panels. Rest assured, your stove will perform consistently even in extreme conditions thanks to the pressure regulator.
About Coleman More than 100 years ago, a young man with an entrepreneurial spirit and a better idea began manufacturing lanterns in Wichita, Kansas. His name was W.C. Coleman, and the company he founded would change life in America. A man plagued with such poor vision he sometimes had to ask classmates to read aloud to him, Coleman saw a brilliant light in 1900 in a drugstore window that stopped him in his tracks. He inquired about the light inside and discovered he was able to read even the small print on a medicine bottle by the illumination. The lamps had mantles, not wicks, and were fueled by gasoline under pressure instead of coal oil. Soon afterward, Coleman started a lighting service that offered a "no light, no pay" clause--a big step forward for merchants who were burned by inferior products that rarely worked--and drew substantial interest from businesses that wanted to keep their lights on after dark. In the ensuing years, Coleman expanded its product line well beyond lanterns. The company's current catalog is thick with products that make spending time outdoors a pleasure. There are coolers that keep food and drinks cold for days on end, comfortable airbeds that won't deflate during the night, a complete line of LED lights that last for years, powerful portable grills that cook with an authentic open-grill flame, and much, much more. Coleman has truly fashioned much of our outdoor camping experience, and expects to do so for generations to come.
- Cooking power: Up to 20,000 total BTUs
- 2 adjustable burners: For precise temperature control

Question: | What are the dimensions of cooking surface when stove is open for cooking grill |
Answer: | about 20'' x 10'' |
Question: | Which carry case fits this stove |
Answer: | Coleman Part# 2000004431. That case will fit the stove AND can hold Two propane bottles. It's a nice case, keeps your stove looking like new plus carrying the bottles. |
Question: | What type of connector do I need for this Coleman Stove? I see many types but do not know which one to buy |
Answer: | it comes with the connector. you don't need to worry about that as long as you buy the small, green, one-use propane canisters. |
Question: | Can an adapter and propane tank be used with this burner |
Answer: | I'm not 100% sure but I think it should, provided the adapter is for this kind of Coleman propane stove. Personally, I use a refill adapter to refill my One-LB propane bottles from the 20-LB BBQ propane tank. I like the ease of the 1-LB bottles. The 20-LB tanks are too bulky for camping trips. User questions & answers
Question: | Where is it made from |
Answer: | Looking at the previous answers, looks like it used to be made in the usa, but now it looks like it's made in china. In the product details, it says it's made in china as of 5-28-17. |
Question: | can i use it without the legs? or what's the lowest i can adjust the legs to |
Answer: | No, you cannot use it without the legs. I looked at this too. The propane connection assembly extends lower than the metal shield around the burner. The legs do not have a lot of adjustment, maybe an inch or two. I have the stove packed away with my camping gear and cannot verify the exact amount of adjustment or lowest cooking height. |
Question: | I would purchase this to do pressure canning outside. Is there a problem with the weight of a full canner |
Answer: | Weight is not the issue with outside canning..... Too much heat on the thin aluminum canner bottoms is the issue. https://www.healthycanning.com/pressure-canner-heat-source/#heat-source-too-high Most everyone agrees to definitely avoid any “turkey fryer” propane heaters because of the high heat required to boil the oil to fry the turkey would damage many canners. Some people say, however, that there are some safe outdoor heat sources — ones with adjustable temperature controls such as the Camp Chef line. “Only Camp Chef brand 2 burner stove on low is the only safe one we know of.” 4 |
Question: | How much weight can this handle? I am hosting a lobster bake so I am figuring about 45 pounds/ 21kg will be on the unit at any given time. Thank you |
Answer: | I came here to look up this answer. I can say that I've had mine since 2015 and have routinely mashed and boiled wort on the burner. Over 7 gallons. Which would be around 56 pounds. I may have even doubled this up once with two batches at the same time. |

User questions & answers
Question: | What's the most efficient way to clean the Stanley pot when you have limited resources on extended trips |
Answer: | The best and easiest way to clean just about any camping cookware, is to, after use, put a tight cover on it with about 2 to three tablespoons of water....Let it sit in a warm(not hot) area, and when you pull of the cover, most of that burned on and stuck on goop has been "released" due to the condensation in the pot. You can also use just plain sand and water to scrub those tougher areas. |
Question: | Does anyone know if the 8oz. butane/propane canister fits inside this cooking set, if you remove the 2 plastic cups |
Answer: | Ditch both cups, get a ss cup (MSR, REI, or WM) that this pot will sit in. Turn the 4oz fuel canister upside down and drop it in the Stanley Pot. Put the pocket stove on top of that. You should have room for a spork, and some spice packs, a little dish soap and a small cleaning cloth. The SS cup is less weight than the plastic ones and you can cook in it. There are several YouTube videos on it. |
Question: | What is total weight for this set |
Answer: | Hi Lilly. Cookset weighs a total of nearly 14oz. Without cups a weight of 7.5oz. I ditched the cups to save the weight and gain some room. Also ditched the plastic handle and put a split ring on. Hope this helps. pgorja. |
Question: | If these are made from Stainless Steel, then why do magnets NOT stick to it |
Answer: | Umm hate to get too nerdy but austinite phase of steel is non magnetic. That’s why with regular steel it isn’t magnetic when it’s hot, the pearlite and martencite phases convert to austinite when heated. Most stainless steel alloys stay in the austinite phase at room temperature hence why it isn’t magnetic. 18-8 isn’t a duplex stainless alloy... |

User questions & answers
Question: | can you use it over an outside grill |
Answer: | Yes. I use mine on a Weber Q1200. Look at pics because there is a Coleman grill that will melt if you use this on it. |
Question: | What are the interior dimensions of the oven |
Answer: | The outside dimensions are 12x12x12, so the inside dimensions are the same, minus about a 16th of an inch (or a little less, maybe 1/32?) for the thickness of the metal. If you just figure its one cubic foot you're going to be fine. You can find ten inch square bake-ware (muffin tins, cookie sheet, cake pan) on Amazon.com pretty easy. The bake-ware is actually usually on the same page as the oven if you scroll down. |
Question: | I was wondering if anyone actually has tried to use the Coleman oven on top of a woodstove that has a firebox that is thermostaticly controled |
Answer: | I've used it only on a gas stove, either propane or butane. You may need to have a flame right below the oven. If the heat source is too far away, the distance and lack of insulation in the oven may prevent it heating as high as 350 F. |
Question: | Where would one get extra racks for the inside of this unit |
Answer: | I had the same problem, extra racks. They do not sell them. What I did was cut the lower parts of two wire hangers,so you have in your hand two rods the size of the original rack. Now if you want to make it more fancy in a mesh like form, fine. So you put the two rods in the slots and place your pan on top. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Can the pots and frypan be used over a campfire |
Answer: | I do and have no issues. |
Question: | What is the 'total weight' in oz's / lb's? What are the 'dimensions' when the mess kit is collapsed/ assembled |
Answer: | Hi Tom - Yes, UTTy is machine washable. A best practice is to remove the hanging hook and UTTy hooks before tossing it in the washing machine. |
Question: | Can someone explain what the legal disclaimer mean here regarding the chemical warning. Should we be concerned |
Answer: | There are a quantity of 6 two prong hooks on a 4 foot long gear strap. Thank you for your question. |
Question: | How do you prevent the stainless steel from getting covered with soot when cooking over a wood fire |
Answer: | Hi, Thank you for reaching out with your question. In my opinion, the short answer is from a drying perspective I believe UTTy and the "tree style" solutions are very similar as they both rely on air circulation. What makes UTTy unique is its portability and the micro size footprint when in use. UTTy fits in the palm of your hand and requires no set up after its initial use. UTTy is ideal for travel weekends when you still have to manage gear while residing in a hotel room. Also, given UTTy's design and portability we have customers using their UTTy with dozens of use cases like ski trips, camping, home storage, dorm rooms, beach, etc. Managing gear is important in sports and recreation so whatever product you choose, you are on the right track - Mark |
