User questions & answers
Question: | Does the heart monitor come with a chest strap |
Answer: | Yes, it does. |
Question: | If i don’t paired with phone when i ride, can i download the data later at phone |
Answer: | Yes! The Wahoo ELEMNT BOLT contains onboard memory so that you can ride entirely without your phone and sync those rides later via WiFi. Please see our article below on syncing your device for more details: https://wahoofitness.yonyx.com/y/conversation/?id=086c1921-53dd-11e8-8f6c-bc764e10d166 |
Question: | is the element bolt a stand alone bike computer or do I have to have my phone with me |
Answer: | It is a stand alone bike computer. It has GPS to track your speed and guide you on a route. (You can also link it to speed and other sensors on your bike.) Some of the features, such as re-routing to a new destination during the ride, would require your phone. You also need the phone to set up the computer and your data fields, which you only need to do before a ride. But aside from that, you don't need to have your phone with you. |
Question: | Hi, I need to see and know my heart rate on the screen. What do I have to buy axactively |
Answer: | Wahoo makes their own heart monitor strap. The TICKR and TICKRx should do the trick. I think any heart rate monitor strap will do as long as it can connect between Bluetooth or ANT+ though. |
Question: | Does it work with Varia |
Answer: | Yes |
Question: | does it come with a charger |
Answer: | No, it does not come with its own charger but you can plug the USB cable into most any USB port style charger, PC, laptop or even a powerbank to charge it. |
Question: | Will it automatically upload my rides to Stava through Bluetooth |
Answer: | Yes and no. When I finish a ride I turn bluetooth on on my phone and open the Garmin Connect app. It the phone usually syncs with the 520 plus and uploads the ride automatically to both Garmin and Strava. But sometimes I have to turn off the bluetooth on the phone and then turn in back on and then go into the Connect app and select sync for it to work. |
Question: | What is the standard mount that comes with the "unit only" vs. the mount with the mountain bike bundle? Seems like $50 more for a mount is alot |
Answer: | The unit comes with two mounts, both the standard quarter-turn style. One mount is the “out-front” bracket that puts the unit in front of the handlebars about 3 inches. The other is to simply mount the unit to anything you can put the rubber bands around (I use that one to mount the unit to the neck between the fork and my handlebars - it has two rubber band o-ring things that you wrap around and attach to itself). Long story short - it comes with everything you need to mount it to your bike. |
Product features
Advanced Navigation with Garmin Cycle Map
Edge 520 Plus is preloaded with the Garmin Cycle Map and includes turn-by-turn navigation and navigation alerts that notify you of upcoming sharp turns. And, of course, it’s smart enough to guide you back to the route — or back to start — if you deviate from it or decide to head home early.
Messages From Rider to Rider
There’s no need to reach for the phone or worry about your fellow riders when they pull ahead or fall behind. Rider-to-rider messaging (with a compatible smartphone) lets you send prewritten notes from your Edge 520 Plus bike computer to theirs. Let your friends know if you’ll catch up in a few minutes or if they should go on without you. If you have a flat tire or need assistance, you can send a message to your fellow riders who are paired with GroupTrack — so they can find you.
Advanced Performance Monitoring
Edge 520 Plus is compatible with ANT+ technology sensors, including speed, cadence and heart rate. For even more performance data, 520 Plus is also compatible with ANT+ power meters, including Vector 3 (sold separately). Our unique pedal-based power meter measures total power, left/right balance and cadence. You can even record cycling dynamics to get a better look at your form, including where your power is being applied on the pedal and throughout the pedal stroke.
Customize Your Device
It’s easy to customize your Edge 520 Plus bike computer with the free apps, widgets and data fields you want from our Connect IQ store. Apps such as AccuWeather MinuteCast let you know when the rain will stop so you can find time for a ride. Get immediate feedback with the MPA and Power app from Xert so you can see if you’re exceeding your maximum power available. A variety of configurable data fields show your favorite stats on a single, easy-to-read screen.
Ride with Confidence and Ease
Edge 520 Plus is compatible with our Varia line of cycling awareness devices, including rearview radar and smart bike lights. By pairing these devices with your Edge, you can get alerts — right on your Edge display — to approaching cars and help drivers see you. Use LiveTrack to let your friends and family follow your real-time location, or use GroupTrack to keep tabs on up to 50 of your riding buddies — and let them keep tabs on you — if you get separated.
Strava Live Segments Help You Push to Perform
Garmin and Strava are bringing you even more ways to test your limits. You’ll still get alerts for segment starts and finishes and be able to virtually compete against your own PR and Strava friends with a redesigned second-by-second comparison that shows how you measure up. But now you’ll also be able to see how your current effort compares to your PR, your most recent efforts or the personal bests of your friends. And finally, with the preloaded Strava Routes Connect IQ app, starred routes can now be wirelessly sent to your Edge bike computer so you can navigate and compete on your favorite Strava segments at the same time.
With the purchase of an Edge 520 Plus, you get a free 60-day trial of Strava Premium, so you can sample the best tools to push yourself.
From Plan to Performance with TrainingPeaks
With the TrainingPeaks Connect IQ app, bringing your planned workout with you for every ride is as easy as turning on your Edge 520 Plus bike computer. Featuring trails from more than 80 countries, Trailforks maps include topographic information, points of interest, heatmaps, trail conditions, photos, videos and much more. Wherever you ride, you’ll have access to the best, most up-to- date information so you can plan your ride, discover new trails and elevate your riding experience. User questions & answers
Question: | does this unit keep a history of your rides or is that accomplished by syncing to strava or like app |
Answer: | Hi there, the PACE 2 only has one version. There is no premium version available. |
Question: | How effective is the trailforks integration for mtb users whose primary interest is navigating unknown trail systems? Heard mixed reviews |
Answer: | Yes, all COROS watches have VO2 Max estimate, along with other sport science metrics. |
Question: | Does this sync with a Garmin HR strap |
Answer: | In my experience, under normal use the nylon strap doesn't retain a lot of moisture. I usually sponge off any excess moisture and it dries off pretty quickly. I haven't gone swimming, but expect that might cause more retention. |
Question: | Does the "device only" package include any mounting hardware |
Answer: | Good vibration strength! |

User questions & answers

User questions & answers
Question: | what about running with this bag ? its comfortable |
Answer: | Not sure but it works with my garmin 500 |
Question: | I thought i read the mule came with spine protector? does this one have it or is it another model |
Answer: | If you buy a cadence/speed sensor it will work with a bike stand or on an indoor track. Otherwise if there is no GPS signal, as is usually true inside, it will not give you any speed or distance data. If you are riding a track the following might be helpful, but it won't help you with a bike stand: You can check if you get GPS wherever you will ride an indoor track by turning off your phone cell data, making sure GPS is on, and going to where you will ride and see if your maps application can figure out where you are accurately. If it can, you can likely get GPS, although it might be spotty. Good luck, happy riding. |
