BUT, he performed an average dunk tonight and the back board broke in half, and as the half with the hoop attached to it, fell to the ground, it cut his hand slightly. Before tonight I would have given this product 5-stars. I plan to contact the manufacturer to find out more. If I find out anything, I'll report back here again.

Answer:	Yes, the plastic will color fade after a couple of years and the net will not last as long but your indoor breakables will last longer. That's a good trade off unless you need it indoors when your favorite team plays on tv.
